Sony WEGA KD-32DX50 U Tuning problem

When a TV hasn't digital tuner, it's necessary to add it a digital to analog channels converter box, but your TV already has digital tuner, you can switch between digital and analog tuning by pressing the digital/analog botton on the remote control.

try to setting your tv in menu! and you can see the menu has air cable tv mode then select the ADD or ERASE mode! you select all channels to ADD mode! or you can auto search the program!

You can only access auto tuning by going through the digital menu via information button on remote. Pressing the menu button only brings up analogue set up.

Searched Sony webste. Need software update to be loaded by an engineer, or buy a freeview box.

The retuning process is as follows:

1. Press the [i+] button on the remote control to display the DIGITAL INFO menu.
2. Press the BLUE button to display the MAIN MENU.
3. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to highlight AUTO TUNING then press the OK button to display the AUTO TUNING MENU.
4. Press the RED button to start the auto tuning process for all available digital channels.
5. Wait for the process to complete.

If toy wish to CANCEL the auto tuning process whilst it is processing then press the BLUE button at any time.

All Freeview channels need re-tuned after 30th September.
To re-tune your Sony TV...

1.Press Menu button then go to settings...

2.Scroll down the menu icons until you get to 'Digital Set-up'

3.Press enter/centre key next to direction arrows

4. Select spanner icon and digital audio tuning.

5. You will then be asked if you want to start digital audio tuning.

6. Press enter/centre button....and thats it!.... TV will automatically re-tune.

I also have the Sony IDTV KD-28DX4OU Digital TV.After the digital switchover I lost BBC1 and BBC2 despite retuning three times.
I contacted Digital switchover people (useless) and they passed the buck to Sony.I contacted Sony and they said they cannot fix the problem and that I should get a digital set top box. So the £650 I spent on integrated Digital TV has been wasted.If like me your cheesed off with this then I suggest you complain here

and then enter 're-tune digital channels' in the 'search by keyword' box for the explanation.
It basically needs a software upgrade which will be downloaded free if you've still got a freeview channel - but if you've lost them all you'll need help - anyway it's all explained by sony.

What is the model of the TV please?

Is this an U.S. made tv? or are you using a universal Sony purchased outside the U.S. If it was made here, then you probably have a bad tuner.
