My Dyson started sounding strange. I decided to clean the filter and it had a stack of dirt on hit. I cleaned it, washed it and let it dry. After only using it a few times it still sounds strange and the filter has dirt stacked on it again? Can anyone help me?

I also called Dyson and they sent me the Cyclone piece.. My vacuum however still does not work. It turns on now, but I have no suction and the beater bar makes an awful grinding sound. Does anyone have a solution? I've about had it trying to get my vacuum working again.

In the inlet pipe, there is a small valve that can get jammed shut with debris this causes them to pulse start, stop, start, stop, and so on. Ensure this is floating free, not jammed shut, it works purely on gravity... The other possibility is the cyclone needs cleaning. Remove the filter and check no dirt is lodged there. Remove the top torx screws and keep them safe. Carefully remove the top check for damaged seals gaskets etc (this can cause a malfunction). Again keep safe. The cyclone can then be inspected for dirt and dust clogging holes and airways. Clean thoroughly and reassemble, make sure all components are dry if they have been washed to clean them. Hopefully, this will restore the machine to working order
The rotating brush bar in DC23's Turbine head is powered by the vacuum's airflow. From what you've described, it sounds like there may be a blockage somewhere in the machine that's affecting the performance.
In normal use the pre-filter should be washed at least once every 3-6 months, using cold water without detergent. Even a filter that appears to be externally clean may still need a wash as fine dust particles may be contained within the filter material. The correct method is shown in the video attached. Make sure you allow the filter to dry completely for at least 24 hours before replacing it.
We would advise against attempting to modify the Turbine head in any way, as this could cause damage not covered under guarantee. It sounds like it could need replaced or there is something stopped up in it somewhere . Clean all the crevices in it dirt could possibly be congested in it . If it still does it after you clean it out change the filter .
If your DC24 doesn't seem to be picking up as well as it should be, and you've already tried washing the filters, it's likely that your machine has a blockage. To locate and remove any obstructions, please take a look at the steps shown in our online Support guide:

The fliter is under the canister. Take it off as if going to empty the dirt out. There is a cap that lifts up to clean the filter. I washed mine and let it dry (it took almost 3 days) before replacing it.
It could well be that your Dyson is blocked elsewhere. Check the pipes, especially the feeder channels and the air way inspection channels on the Dyson as well as the main dirt channel after the rolling brush bar. Also brush clean the shrouds on the inner cyclones as these get notoriously clogged.
If the filter is washable it wont come up white like new unless you try a stain detergent like a pre stain remover. It would have to be heavily diluted as water is really the only way of cleaning a Dyson filter, but it also has to be of the washable type; Dyson produce a few filters, but some are not washable. EBay usually have good cheap replacements available but I'd check the first points first of all before filter replacement.
this may be due to diminished suction. have you tried cleaning out the filters? Try rinsing the filters throughly with water and then letting it COMPLETELY dry out before reinserting. Also try cleaning around all the rubber gaskets on the dirt bin.
