Question about HP Photosmart 945 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Need Help! When I turn my camera on, the lens comes out but then makes a clicking sound and won't stop making the sound, so then I have to shut the camera down. (sounds like a car when the battery is almost dead and just clicks). Once I got it to stop clicking and I looked through the view finder to snap a picture and it's all blurry. It won't focus anymore. The camera is almost 3 years old and I paid alot for it. Is there anything I can do? Please help. I now can not afford another digital camera and I really love this one. It has taken some awesome pictures.

Sounds like this camera will need inspection and repair by HP. Since it was expensive, it might be worth doing, so I would send it directly to HP (find out where and how at their website). Pack it in several layers of bubble wrap, not packing peanuts! HP should offer you an estimate for cost of repair, or possibly a trade-in. Good luck.

hi, the camera must also be giving a lens error and must be making a whirring sound when turned on, hold the camera with camera off bang it with flat of hand , a few times , if this does not work , repeat it with camera on, even if this does not, when turning the camera on gently apply pressure on the front of the lens, do this just once , all the above fails , camera has to be service , lens unit may have to be changed

Camera lens won't shut

This has to be THE most common failure mode for a digital camera. Some common error messages that might show up on the LCD's of cameras with this problem include "E18 lens error" (older Canons), "ACCESS" error (Sony), "Zoom Error" (Fuji), "Lens Obstructed" (Kodak), "lens error, restart camera" or just "lens error" (nearly all camera makers lately use this variation). Some cameras might show nothing at all, but merely make a beeping noise as the lens goes out, then in, then the camera shuts off. Sometimes the lens won't even move.

Hi, my Nikon Coolpik S8100 camera lens seems to be stuck and not extending. When I turn the camera on, it makes a clicking sound and the lens does not come out. Please help!

try manually pulling on lens housing while powering on. if there is a grinding noise the gears are probably missing teeth.

Says lens error!!!!!

The best solution is to take it to Best Buy and have them look at it. The Kodak camera could still be under warranty.
