The A410 works with SD cards. Your 8GB card is an SDHC card and won't work in devices not designed to use them. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.
It is possible that the memory card is full, with little space for storage. Also it can have errors if the card was not cleared or formated.
So ideally it will be best to remove the card and use an adaptor to load into your PC, open and copy all the image files to a selected marked folder . Now after the images are saved you can scan the mamory card check the properties. Now you can get an idea of the card but it is best to have the card FORMATTED. This will wipe the memory clean and make it work faster on the camera. If not the camera processor has some errors.
Sorry, but your older camera can only use 2GB or less standard SD cards. Fortunately, these are relatively inexpensive these days, and may be found on Amazon, if your local store no longer carries them.
just had someone tell me to take the memory card out, turn on your computer, delete the pictures on your internal memory and then put your memory card back in. Make sure you know where your pictures are stored in your computer before you delete something you may want.

If it is a brand new card, look at it before you put it into the camera to see if you might have accidentally put it in locked mode. If it is unlocked, see if you can format the card from within the camera (refer to p. 23-24 of the manual).
If it is not a new card, connect the camera to a computer and see if you can download any pictures already on the camera, and clear the card out.

Pull the pictures off the card then plug it into the computer if you have a SD card port. Then go into my computer and find the card icon. right click on the card and pick properties. Verify that the card is showing as a 16GB card and how much available memory is available on the card. It should show 16GB. If the card does not try and run a format on the card and see if that fixes it. Five pictures on the highest resoloution on your camera should not fill up a 16GB card. There might be files stored on the card causing the issue or the card might be defective.
Hi , the only remedy to remove write proctection is to transfer or download all pictures to computer or rewritetable cd,
Format the sim card and donnot set again to write protection the picture .
Protect are located in play menu ,navigate downward you can see protect .
By Pressing The Button which takes picture a red light which will measure light appears this will consume a lot of battery try charging the battery to full extend
