I had my phone out in the sun while I was laying out today. The phone got pretty hot, and at the end of the day the screen wouldn't work. I hoped that after the phone cooled off it would work again, but no such luck so far. Anyone know any solutions to this problem, or at least how to change a screen?
Your best bet is probably to change the screen. They always say not to leave an LCD screen in direct sunlight; they can be permanently damaged by heat. There are a few options for retailers of replacement screens. They start at about $30. http://www.shopping.com/xPC-Motorola-Lcd-Display-for-Motorola-Razr-V3 Once you have that, check out this guide. For respect of them, I won't just copy the content here, but the guide is otherwise pretty comprehensive. Be aware that you need a T4 Torx Screwdriver, if you don't have already. Those run under $5 online, if you do need. http://incipiotech.com/moto/motorola_v3_housing_guide.PDF Not the shortest repair, but not the hardest, With a little work, you will save yourself from buying a new handset and extending your contract. If you doubt your own abilities in this one, almost all carriers carry the V3; take it to a local wireless store and ask them to repair it. It probably will be more expensive if they do it at all, but still cheaper than a replacement.
