SOURCE: cannot remove disk that covers screws to tighten my lock

The screws are located on the non locking side of the handle. To get the cover off most pop off by placing a small screwdriver behind the edge and gently prying. Paint/varnish will make this harder so you my have to take a razor and cut around it.

SOURCE: Loose Kwikset Chelsea Deadbolt

I just had the same problem as samrpetrich with a loose kwikset deadbolt. Here's how I fixed it - on the inside of the door, take off the latch that flips the deadbolt in and out using a very small allen key. There is a round plate cover that is snapped on top of the inside deadbolt mechanism. If you look on the bottom aspect of this round plate you'll see where it snaps on; once I saw where to apply pressure it came off easily - taking off this plate exposed the two screws beneath that were loose. Once I tightened these, I snapped the plate cover back on, but the dead bolt latch back and everything is tight again. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Kwikset SmartKey Error in Changing Key to Lock

Your out of luck this new design is terrible once it locks up and no keys turn it, the lock is done you will have to replace it use the traditional pin tumbler style kwikset and it can be rekeyed unlimited times by a locksmith with or without a key.

SOURCE: I have a front door

on the inside of the door look on the bottom of the lock cover. There should be a hole with a screw or allen head screw. Remove the screw and you can access the the rest of the lock.

Professional Door Lock installation Kit: After 2-3 years all of the sudden none of our keys...

The lock is bad very common problem with them, If you got 2-3 years out of your "smartkey" lock those things are like dinosaurs most of them don't make it 3 months and this problem happens. Get the traditional pin tumbler version of the Kwikset lock and this will never happen again. Plus it will be an easy swop out since they use the same latch.

I can't find the instructions to install lock.

Here is the installation page for Kwikset. There are some general hints and tips and you should be able to follow the links to a specific lock if you need it.

How do you reverse the handles

you mean turn the key 180? pop it out from the inside, it's held in place by a couple of spring clamps, and rotate it, then pop it back in.

Most pop off by gently prying off with a small screwdriver. Some can be removed by turning counterclockwise a quarter turn. Please remember to rate my answer

Kwikset deadbolt

use the proper size alan wrench to tighten or loosen face plate . That is if you have not stripped that hole by putting the wrong tool to it. Under that plate is the 2 main screws to hold the hardware tight to the door.

Lost keys to my Entry door lock

Visit your local Home Depot and purchase a Kwikset re-keying kit. They're inexpensive and work fine but stay alert and follow the instructions properly. This kit comes complete with proper pins as well as new keys. Good Luck!
