Siemens dishwasher stored for 6 months. Not working.

Siemens dishwasher been in storage for 6 months.Turned it on 4 a wash and it makes noises, but the detergent is not taken up and no wash cycle. There is a little bit of water getting in,not much.
We have had our plumbing checked,no problems there.
Please suggest a solution.

start your dishwasher on a cycle and place your hand on the plastic block at the plumbing (not dishwasher) end of the filling pipe. you should feel a slight vibration and hear a slight humm coming from the plastic block. if not, then there's your problem. the block in question is an electromagnetic valve that opens on the dishwashers command as a flood and leak protection method.
my next suggestion would be to remove the dishwasher and then remove the left panel (looking at the front). you will need a set of torx screwdrivers and there are 2 screws underneath the white seal. you should then be able to see what is called the fill matrix. in normal operation the fill water comes through a blue hose at the bottom up a thin pipe, which bends back on itself at the top in a kind of question mark shape. this fills the matrix and when full, a diaphragmatic valve tells the dishwasher the matrix is full, and the water drains into the wash chamber, where circulation begins.

SOURCE: Dishwasher won't drain all the way

After cleaning the air gap thingy my machine works fine again. This thing sits on the left lower back side of the machine (left when you are standing in front of the machine). It is a transparent plastic box with 3 hoses attached (drain hose from pump, drain hose to the outside and water). Inside the box is a black plastic float. If debris gets caught in there the float gets stuck.
Solution is to remove the part by pulling the 2 drain hoses out (there is a small black clip holding them in) and unclamp and remove the water hose. Rinse and shake the housing until the float moves freely again and reassemble.

SOURCE: I have had an

Hi Steve

E24 error normally indicates failure to drain, the first thing to check is that the water is actually being supplied to the appliance and is turned on. If it is then check the water inlet valve, if the valve tests fines then clean the drain pump assembly completely as that might be clogged causing this issue. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Lg ldf7932ss growling noise at wash cycle

The LG is known for the main motor bearings (2 small cheap) bearings that are of poor quality and become noisy (growls) after a period of time. I pulled the motor and replaced the Korean bearings with quality German equivalents. This is cheap and solves the problem. (the front bearing closest to the plastic pump is the culprit.

Water will not drain out

Check the drain filter located at the bottom of the wash tub. Clean if clogged. The pump noise could be due to non availability of the washed water continuously due to clog.

Clean the drain filter. Check the final drain output after the pump(hose) for free flow if you have connected it to a drain system.

Whirlpool frontend washer smelly cloths...need

I have this problem with my Siemens machine, it is due to mainly running low temp washes and bateria building up in the hoses etc. (more prevalent if the machine is connected directly to the sink and not on a stand pipe). I run a 90 degree cycle every 4 weeks with the machine empty except for two capfuls of baby sterilisng fluid (approx half a mug) I buy stores own as it is cheaper than miltons. The first time I did mine I ran the cycle twice to be sure it was cleared out. My machine is six years old and the first smelly signs were when it was about a year old, I run the maintenance wash religiously ever 4 weeks and run a machine descaler such as oust thru every 4-6 months. Hope this helps. Roni. (ps don't be tempted to use bleach as it foams up and can cause more problems!!)

My dishwasher is 6 months old. It was very quiet

Hello. Call the store where you purchased this machine, or the installer. This unit is still under warranty and you do not want to work on it yourself as this will void the warranty. Joe

My dishwasher is just 6 months old and started making a humming sound while washing in th wash cycle.

If you hear unusual noises during dishwasher operation, check to see if a dish or cup is loose and being knocked around during the wash cycle. If you hear grinding, grating, crunching or a buzzing sound, chances are a hard object has gone into the wash module. Once the object is ground up, the noises should cease.

Our LG LDF7920st dishwasher (6 months old)makes a whistling noise

Hey, consider the float assembly!

We bought this dishwasher and ran it for the last 1 1/2 months and it made a grinding and whistling sound from day one (it's supposed to be nearly silent in its operation). Turns out the drain pump was cutting in while the machine was still filling, thereby emptying the wash tub of any water. Then, when the cycle proceeded to wash, the dumb thing had no water and made a horrible noise. So I had to pitch in at least 2-3 litres of hot water, and then it worked quietly! Had to do this every time there was new water intake.

After working with the repairmen - four visits later, we isolated the float assembly as the problem and they set about replacing the part. Turns out the two parts were markedly different. LG HAD INSTALLED an older model float assembly at the factory and it was the problem. The replacement part was the correct float assembly and things worked perfectly after that - thank goodness. No more babysitting the dishwasher.

Don't let anyone tell you the motor assembly needs replacement. I have seen that cop-out 'fix' all over the web. But use deductive reasoning to find out where the problem is in the cycle, and explore this option first - it's a quicker and cheaper fix than replacing the whole motor assembly.

'Mr. Float' as he is now called works like this:
-expels any residual water in the tub from the last wash
-intakes water for the wash or rinse
-whirs 2-3 times prepping for the cycle
-begins to wash, quietly
-expels at the end of the wash or rinse.

He used to:
-expel residual water
-intake new water for wash or rinse
---drain pump would cut in WHILE still filling
-machine would whir once, realize it didn't have enough water
-perform a brief top-up intake shot
-begin to wash and whistle and GRIND (this is where I would have to add the water)
-expels water from wash or rinse, and start all over again.

It's a good dishwasher and it will work, but the right model parts have to be in place!
