360 elite seems to be continuously restarting itself
I just purchased a 360 elite and hooked it up via the HDMI cable to my panasonic 42" plasma, model TH-42px75u. When I start up the Xbox, the startup screen starts, then it goes away and the console restarts itself. This just keeps repeating until I turn it off. Could this be a compatibility issue? Or is it maybe just a defective console? I've tried this with the hdmi cables along with the standard compnent cables and got the same results. Xbox support had no answers except mail it in and we'll fix it.

Re:
This is not an issue with tv or anything else, the xbox is defective, everyone i know that owns a 360 has had to return or rebuy the console at least once or twicee, i recomend returning iit to the store you bought it from and exchanging it for a working unit, it'll be sent back for repairs anyway but then you get a working unit faster and if you send it to get repaired yourself there is a good chance it's gonna cost you, maybe just shipping but microsoft has horrible support for all of their products, they wanted me to pay to have the xbox i bought brand new fixed plus shipping to and from, because the dvd drive didn't open from day one, i returned it to ebgames and they gave me a working one on the spot. FYI if it were an issue with the tv or compatability then you would not get video or distorted audio/video or something of that nature, the xbox would still stay powered on.

hi if you have an xboxelite the you can do it via hdmi cable, but if you have the normal xbox360 then its just the vga plug ime affraid hope this helps
the only thing i can think of is that you havent flicked the switch on the hdmi cables wher the plug into the xbox from tv to hdmi, if you have the go ahead and get it replaced
Is it a Plasma TV? Are you saying the screen is cracked? do you have a top box cable box? Also, make sure you have your TV input set to HDMI if you have an HDMI cable hooked up between your cable box and TV.
Everybody is having problems with sony products and HDMI cables. It's on a lot of forums. So, your not alone.
Most of the solutions are:
1. Unplug your TV for 30 mins.
2. Plug TV back in and put it on HDMI for PS3.
3. Hold down the power button for 10secs on the PS3
That should solve the problem.
Hi have you tried going into the menu option using the telly controll and switching the hd mode on this should then allow you to use the xbox through hdmi cable
No solution, but I have the same problem with my Panasonic plamsa TH-50PE700U with a Yamaha RX-V2700 receiver. I don't think the cables are a problem. If I turn the TV on and off about 20 times the system stabilizes until I turn it off.
