Motorola razr v3: hinge on left side fell out

I have a motorola v3, pink. the hinge on the left side which attaches the menue screen to the phone fell out & T Mobil will not fix it for under $100 dollars even though the phone is less than 1 yr old. Can I order the hinge or buy it in the Denver, Co., area, or there a repair person in the Colorado Area.

The hinge on my Razr phone also fell. I have another used one and want to use it's hinge. How do you take the hinge out and put in.

I know what you r talking about because the hinge on my phone is loos, it didn't fall off yet. I have the blue razr but it's with t-mobile and it's unlocked so they wont fix it. T-Mobile is very helpful but u should call moterola and they will fix it 4 u. And if they give u a hard time talk to the manager.

What is used to attached the screen of the razr to the board that runs behind it.

There is a flexible PCB that fits in the left side of the hinge - it's not that difficult to change, but it does require dismantling the phone to a fairly large extent - the keyboard matrix is part of the same cable and you have to replace them together.

Retrieving data, broken screen

The Phone needs a new Keypad flex and most likely a left hinge pin. When the phone is open, the cable runs through the left side of the hinge. It is very common for the hinge pin to become chipped and put a small cut in the Flex Cable.
You can get the parts on ebay. search for motorola v3 keypad flex, and motorola v3 hinge, or knuckle.

Phone is working but Screen doesn't work its blank

I have a similar issue...left side hinge pin came out...found it in my pocket and attempted to put it in place and then the screen went blank...no luck...but I was able to take the motorola phone toola and retrieve the data, names, etc and move to another motorrola phone I have. A few days later I found a small wire clip thing that must ground or contact something in the hinge...no luck yet fixing it. Help

"Bolt" replacement on Razor Phone

Be very carefull with the phone. The main cable runs through that left side.

Look on Ebay for a Left hinge pin for the V3. Also knows as the left knuckle.

Make sure you look for the V3. Not Razr.

If your speaker goes out, or you lose display before you get the Knuckle, you need to get a keypad flex also.

If not, get the Knuckle, and it just slides in. MAKE SURE before you pop it in that there are no pieces of the old one in there and that you don't pinch that cable.

I can fix it for you if you send it to our business, but if you're careful, you shouldn't have a problem.

the hinge is the middle of the phone where the top and bottom of the phone meet think of it this way if u close ur razor the top of the phone is the hinge its the things where it has two shiney cirlces on each sides hope that advice helps thanx.

Tries To Come on, But Screen Will NOT Light Up!

hi there.
the problem your having is caused by a ribbon that connects the screen and the mainboard in the phone.
the ribbon seems to have either come loose or detached.other than that being a problem it will almost certainly be a screen issue where the lcd has burnt out.
but in my professional opinion it will almost certainly be a ribbon issue
