Sony Projection TV 60 XBR, wont turn on, blinking green light

Sounds like there is a short in the tv somewhere, the clicking is probably a breaker/fuse inside the tv cutting power to prevent damage to the components. Have you tried a different outlet as they can sometimes cause this to occur by surging power to the unit.

bad lamp , just replace the lamp and should be ok

power light if it shuts down should blink a error code--count the blinks and a pause?

If you turn the set on and the green light blinks then the red light blinks and no other sound comes from the back of the set and you cannot hear any fan turning, you probably have a bad Temperature Fuse. It would be locate either under the lamp assy or on the side of the lamp housing. It would be necessary to remove the Optical Block to get access to it.

No solution for you...but I have the same problem. I also had the green blob problem which sony fixed earlier this year. It happens on an intermittent basis. Screen goes off, standby light blinks green, then comes back on. Its off for maybe 1-2 min.

Please intimate exact model of your Sony TV and also mention how many times red LED blinks.

on my xbr tv there is a little *** that sticks out on the lamp cover. the wrapped and it wont work light flashed 3 time with a new cover it worked fine. there was a t. s. b. for an over heat problem new fan and sensor and door. go to sony.com its there

It's in standby mode.

Do a reset and see what happens

While holding down the reset button on the remote
Press the power button on the tv
(The tv will turn itself off the back on)
Now release the reset button

It sounds like the lamp needs replaced.

does your power light blink red 3 times?

the tv will try to reboot a few times. just let i try and eventually it will start blinking red. if you could count the red blinks then i can further assist you.
