Very sensible suggestions. I have also copied direct from SD card with same result (played direct from SD card aswell but still no sound).

Now I am copying straight thru Explorer.... I wudnt have thought that I would need to import via the software to retain sound in my video clips??? (I will try thru the software in the meantime tho ;-)

    Thx

Has this just recently started happening? If you're not getting sound, then its got to be the cable. Check the connections, and try to reinstall the software for the camera. If that still doesn't work, replace the cord

Everio movie editing

First check sound settings on control panel, ensure volume is not at minimum and computer audio is not muted. Test playing a CD.

this is usually due to Media Player or whatever player you use on your pc, not having the right codecs to decompress sound from camera file.

Usually you sort it out upgrading media player, you can download update from links below.

  1. Windows Media Player 10
  2. Cumulative update for Windows Media Player 11 in Windows Vista

Can I connect my camera to my PC with a USB cable and record sound from sites such as you tube while I film the screen to get both the audio and visual of a film clip. Right now i can do that by using the...

This is a very roundabout way of recording from YouTube. There are many free utilities to capture YouTube or other website videos directly in your computer, without using a camera and getting the degradation involved. If you want the clip on your camera, you can just copy it there over the USB connection afterwards (you might need to convert the format).

The video capture software I use will automatically sense video playing in my browser and capture it. It is called Sothink Web Video Downloader, and I got it from www.download.com (free download).

No sound

Sony DSC-S730 has no built-in speaker for playback sound and you will have sound if you transfer and play movie clip in computer.

PICTURE BUT NO SOUND!

Your Camera records sound but does not play it back on the device. Go to www.vivitar.com and download the driver for your camera. Install it on your pc and you should have sound when playing video in windows media.

Problem burning (some) QT movies to DVD using Nero

Hi, i had a customer with what sounds to be the same problem with copying the .mov files. The reason for it being she needed the codecs to get the sound working or it would copy the disc with no sound. the way we fixed it was we needed to buy the Nero Premium as it gives you the extra codecs built in. if your copying films etc your best to download dvd shrink you can find it free by searching on google.com Hope this helps John
