Hi I have a LG RZ42px11 there are 6 vertical thick black lines running down the middle off the screen, when cold the TV seems OK but if it has been on for around 10mins or on standby the lines stay on screen.
seems like a lose ground issue from the vertical scan board which usually causes this problem. A scan board repair or replacement should fix this intermittent problem.....take it too your local repair shop before this problems spreads and the tv totally shuts down....
I had the same issue. I could get the tv to work intermittantly by pressing on the boards while playing. This points to bad solder joint, so I resoldered every molex plug connector, and it nows works like a charm.
I have found that vertical lines that suddenly appear from projectors are due to poorly connected cables. Sut off your projector and wait for the fan to go off. Then unplug the connectors from the computer to the projector and secure them again, making sure to go all the way. Hope this helps.
Dry solder joints on the pins of the vertical integrated circuit may have caused this problem Tap each I/C lightly with a plastic screwdriver handle to
find the intermittent one. It is the one with a heat sink attached.
The plasma display screen is made of a matrix of elements
connected to cables along the side and top. On your unit, some of
these many, tiny connections are making contact intermittantly thus
losing the elements in that area. These contacts are held in
place with just pressure and if that is disturbed, you lose that line
of elements. Try squeezing the cabinet of the TV on the outside
at the top in the area of the loss and see if that makes a
difference. May have to go inside and see if the contact assembly
is disturbed or warped or something.
