Electric range control panel dim

I am wondering if there is a way to adjust the brightness of the control panel. During the daytime (not in direct sunlight) it is very hard to read the panel indications. I looked for a varistor, but could not see one.

They pretty much are what they are. I've seen many failures of this type on dacor wall ovens that result in having to replace the display board, but must admit I've never seen it on their ranges. Chances are thats what you're going to have to do as well. Not what you want to hear, but replacement is probably your only option. Good luck!

Instrument panel lights to dim in daytime

The dimmer switch only works when the headlights are on, When they are off there is a light sensor on the dash that takes over and adjusts the dash lights as needed. It sounds like yours has gone out.

Adjusting clock brightness on electric range.

Very few ranges have any type of display dimming. Dacor is the only one I know of. If the display is very dim and hard to read, you will need to replace the clock or Electronic Oven Control. If the range is still under warranty, call Whirlpool and request service.

I have a CDA 7892 alpine works great but would like the display to be brighter seems a bit dim manual does not say this model can be adjusted or am i missing it any help thanks in advance

You didn't specify if you wanted the display brighter in the daytime while headlights are off or if it is too dim when the headlights are on, with respect to the rest of the instrument panel illumination. Too bright is easier to deal with but too dim is tough. If it is always too dim under but daytime and night time conditions the only way to improve brightness would be to very gently disassemble the front panel (easier if it is the removable type) and determine what provides the back lighting. If there are tiny LEDS you could painstakingly add more LEDS or swap them out for brighter LEDS. There could be a lot of guesswork determining if this or that LED was brighter than what is in the unit as built. It may just be easier to live with it as-is.

I am looking for a fuse box diagram for a 1995 Honda Prelude.

The manual indicates Fuse 11 (10A) interior fuse box, INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS.
Also, the is a dimmer for them:
The dial on the dashboard to the left of the instrument panel controls the brightness of the instrument panel lights. Turn the dial to adjust the brightness.
To reduce glare at night, the fuel and temperature gauges dim when you turn on the parking lights or headlights. You then adjust their brightness when you adjust the instrument panel brightness. Turn the dial up as far as it will go to return the fuel and temperature gauges to their daytime brightness.
You can try the following URL for a copy of your manual (which includes fuse box diagrams). You won't be able to save the whole thing (except by sections), but you can print copies of whatever sections are important to you. You'll need Adobe reader (free from Adobe) to read the manual.

Hope this helps you.

Just bought a used 1995 Honda Prelude and the Tach and speedometer work along with the clock but I can't see any other gauges. (Gas, oil, temp and whatever else might be there. What is the problem?

Since you just bought the car, I thought that you might not be aware of the instrument lighting control. I apologize if you know this:
The dial on the dashboard to the left of the instrument panel controls the brightness of the instrument panel lights. Turn the dial to adjust the brightness.
To reduce glare at night, the fuel and temperature gauges dim when you turn on the parking lights or headlights. You then adjust their brightness when you adjust the instrument panel brightness. Turn the dial up as far as it will go to return the fuel and temperature gauges to their daytime brightness.
Hope it's that simple.

The control panel light is very dim. It is hard

we had the same problem....my husband removed the panel and I clean the inside glass panel & it resolved the problem. It is a convection oven and steam comes out just below the clock area which I believe causes the problem.

Pontiac vibe headlights come on when its cold

Remove the fuse labeled ECU-B from the fuse panel inside the vehicle. The instrument panel fuse block is located underneath the instrument panel on the driver's side of the car. This will disable to Daytime Running Lights. These have been known to come on at odd times during cold weather and thus drain the battery. Disconnect the battery and have it fully charged using a battery charger that you plug in to your homes electric supply, or replace the battery with a new one. This should keep the Daytime Runners from coming on and draining your battery when the car is not on. Once you have done this you can then take the vehicle to a service location and have the issue taken care of. This is only a band-aid so you can limp through until you can get it fixed. This is not a permenant solution.

WS3 Broan Allure Range Hood Premier 36 inch

Hi shealy,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: This hood worked fine until a light bulb blew out. Put in a new light bulb, but the lights will not turn off. Is the light switch bad or is there a problem with the control panel? The fan still works fine but the lights will not turn off or adjust dim or bright.

You're on the right track. The light control switch needs replacing. You might try utilizing the Repair Directory to find a repairman. If you have the tools and ability just remember to turn off the electric first.
