Where your sansa is on my computer for example removable disk k open it and click music and delete what you want if this dosent help then go onto the sync mode in windows media player 10 and click f5 so it will find your player then there should come a list on the right side select music and again delete what you like.
Another way is to connect it to your computer and start up Rhapsody to edit your music files.
btw, when i try Mike L's solution, i don't see any files for music. only vids, pics, mic. recorded files, etc.
In order to delete songs off your MP3 you have to connect to your PC with the supplied cable. Once your PC has recognized the player is connected, Click "Start", "My Computer", double click on the "Sansa" drive and all your songs should be listed. Here is where you can click on the songs you want to delete.
To delete... right click on the song and select delete or left click on the song so it is highlighted and then click on "file", "delete" . If you want to select more than one song you can click on one song and then click on another song while holding the shift key and all the songs in between will be highlighted and can be deleted all at once. If you want to select more than one song but they are not in order, click each song while holding the "Ctrl" (Control) key. Once all desired songs are selected.... "File", "Delete"
that should do it.

"Connect your player, of course. Go to "My Computer" > "Sansa e260".
There are hidden files. To unhide go to "Tools" (located on the menu
bar) > "Folder Options..." > hit the "View" tab > select "Show
hidden files and folders". You will see more folders to appear in a
faded color. Click on the "MUSIC" folder. Click on the artist, then
album then select the song, right click and down to delete." --Yahoo Answers
From what I'm hearing you don't have a good driver. If you still have the disk use that. If not google it or something. I have a Sansa e260 as well so I would suggest loading the songs on in windows media player rather that windows explorer. If you open Media Player and then go to sync and it does not recognize your device, then you have a bad driver. If not, then start syncing your songs that way.
hey download real media player...itz easy to use and it ll show up ur sansa player and u can edit the song name list in it ..try out.. there u can just rite click and delete the songs in the real media itself...the song 'll shoe up in the libraray
If your computer says you don't have any, but your MP3 does you can delete it from your MP3 player. Click on the song that you want to delete and go down to delete song. Click on it and whala! the song is deleted
1. right click on my computer and select manage.
2. go to disk management on the left panel.
3. right click on the sansa icon, and go to format.
4. make sure that the file system is under FAT32.
