Philips 42FD9934 42in HDTV plasma - no Pic red light 4 blinks
My Philips 42FD9934 has no picture and red light flashes in 4 blink sequence. I do not have owners manual. Is there a troubleshooting code specific to 4 blinks?
Thanks

unplugging & replugging power cord worked a half dozen times, then didn't. unplugging power cord for several days worked and then didn't. repairman came over and switched power cord plug-in location - worked, now doesn't. other website indicates hundreds of people with same issue. i'll be calling repair company to tell them it wasn't the "power strip" afterall - duh.unplugging & replugging power cord worked a half dozen times, then didn't. unplugging power cord for several days worked and then didn't. repairman came over and switched power cord plug-in location - worked, now doesn't. other website indicates hundreds of people with same issue. i'll be calling repair company to tell them it wasn't the "power strip" afterall - duh.

cOUNT THE NUMBER OF RED BLINKS AND MAKE NOTES OF THE SEQUENCES. Third will tell tou what is wrong with the tv during it's self diagnostic.Google the make and mogel numbr and seaqrch you anwers from ther.
the blinking light signifies to a repair technician with capacitors or circuits are having an issue they can diagnose the problem via the amount of blinks in between pauses however it will require a technician and some specific tools and schematics to fix and it may be cheaper if its no longer under warranty to purchase a new one
I've seen this problem before with Philips. 6X3X blink was the X-sus or Y-sus boards. In other words, the TV cannot make the picture on the screen properly, so it won't even try and will shut down.
I've also had difficulty getting these parts from Philips (even while being an authorized service center). If you have an authorized service center near you, you might want to give them a try because I don't believe they were too expensive, just hard to get.
the initial symptom is usually caused by microprocessor as it is not initializing correctly. followed by 4 blink error which is i2c communication failure also specific to microprocessor would recommend replacing small signal board as microprocessor is located on that board
My 50PF7321D plasma does the same thing...
