Nokia n96 not charging

My nokia n96 is not charging after being full drained of power. when I plugged it to my charger it won't show me it's charging. i've pressed and held the power button several times and it won't even power up to show the usual white scree with battery icon indicator. any ideas on this issue and how to fix it? Thanks

First Option:
mostly nokia chargers doesn't make problems...
just try the following..
connect ur mobile with a system (usb cable)...
found out whether it is charging or not...
if the same prblm appears then there is a prblm in ur cell phone or power jack(socket)...
if it charged with usb cable buy a new charger
Please change Phone Bettery and check the charging
IF Charging Problem not Solved So

Second Option:
Your Phone charging IC Fault So Please change charging IC
And charging Problem will Solved Quickly

well the problem is in your phone hardware,probably the "charging I.C". try to bring it on a service center..

SOURCE: my new nokia n96 has the message icon flashing non stop.

the message icon means that your sim card has old messages still stored on it. change your message storage location to sim card so you can view them, then delete them, and change it back..

as for not showing missed calls, beats me.

2_that code format your phone for Nokia only
3_ *#7780# if you know your security numbers use it. if you don’t know it use 12345
4_ other numbers *#7370# and the security n ......
and look if the problem is solve it
because after this . you have like a new mobile

This is a common problem. It may be that the charger is dammaged. these Dell chargers have a micro thin communication cable in them that tell the charger to charge the battery. this micro thin cable can often break. Its use it to prevent the laptop battery from over charging, but if it breaks or becomed broken inside tha charger cable, then the laptop simply won't get the charge signal and the battery won't charge. Check batry terminals are secure & free from corosion, check security of earth strap to engine & main power wire on starter, if ok have the batry load tested to ensure it can perform under load as the starter needs a lot of current. Have you tried a jump start?

Why my n96 turns itself on and off
Hello bonganimutee,

if it's turning off because it's lacking battery power even after a full recharge, then you have a hardware problem that you need to get checked by a nokia care pint, it might be the battery, the charger or even the phone itself.
if on the hand battery power is ok, but the phone still turns off, then it might be a software problem. try to update/reinstall the firmware by downloading and installing nokia software updater from here:

"remeber to backup your phone contents using ovi suite"

The batteries need charging and when you plug in the charger and the power is on the lights wil flash indicating that the charger is plugged in. Now look at the rear of the chair near where the charger cord plugs into the chair and you should see a voltmeter. With the charger plugged in the voltmeter will indicate about 5-6 amps and after charging overnight the voltmeter should be reading 0 amps. If when you plug in the charger cord and the voltmeter indicates 0 amps then I would suspect that the charger is not working or that the fuse is blown in the charger circuit. The only way to see if the batteries charge would be to borrow or find an offboard charger that will plug into the charger port located under the front of the joystick and after charging for 10-12 hours see if the battery level lights show full charge Hope this helps

Ifthe cell phone battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

Hi, if you N96 is not charging when plugged to a power supply outlet and the battery charges in another phone, then it obviously means the charging i.c in the phone is bad thereby affecting the charging port.
You need to get the phone to a mobile phone repair tech to replace the charging i.c. Meanwhile you can use a desktop charger to charge your battery pending the time you fix it....

Try a different battery on your phone and try this battery elsewhere to ruleout a bad battery (yours). Your battery could be dead.
