Hi, i've been using my treo 650 for over a year now and in the past couple of weeks my battery indicator and/or charging seems to bahave strangely. i used to be able to fully charge my battery in just about 2-4 hours. now, my treo is plugged in more than 24 hours and the battery still won't get full. the most i got was about 51%. what was more strage was when it was at that percent, the led indicator was solid green telling me that it's fully charged. i tried to unplug the charger from the phone and from the wall and try to hook it back in again. but after a few minutes, the led indicator became solid green again with only about 51% battery life! another strange thing is that whenever i plug in the charger to my phone it would take a while for the phone to start charging and when it did start to charge, after several seconds, the battery life would drop about 10%. that's all while the treo is plugged in and charging! and when i do a soft reset, the battery life would add back that 10%. also, whenever i plug in the charger, the keyboard backlight flickers. what i have tried: -i tried to replace the battery with a brand new one but it still did the same thing -i already did all the resets possible. soft reset, hard reset, battery reset, etc... -even deleted some programs but it still didn't work -i tried to contact palm tech support but they were no help at all what do you think it could be? please help and thank you in advance!
We have seen the same thing. It appears to be a connection problem with the power connector. Our solution may be to trash the palm and get something that is mechanically reliable.

Do you have a Treo desktop charger/sync cradle where you can drop the battery into the charger?

SOURCE: Receiving MMS on Treo 650
This device should be compatible with MMS.
I found this thread which might help you set up MMS on your Treo 650. Look at the 2nd entry:
1. Start, Settings, Connections, and then tap the Connections Icon
2. Under "My Work Network" tap Add a New Modem Connection
3. Name it Picture Messaging and under Select a modem select (GPRS,3G)
4. Under Access Point Name type: wap.voicestream.com
5. Username, Password, and Domain is left blank and then click Finish
6. Now, go into Proxy Settings and check "This network connects to the Internet" and check "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet"
7. Under the Proxy Server box type: 216.155.165.050
8. Tap the advanced button and tap on the HTTP line. Make sure the HTTP settings shows 216.155.165.050:8080. If not, change it.
9. Click the OK button a few times to get out of the settings completely.
10.Now go to Start, Messaging, Menu, then Options, Advance, then Click Manual, and then the Edit button
11. Message center number +12063130004
12. Email center number is 500
13. MMS gateway address is 216.155.165.050:8080
14. MMS URL is http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
15. Finally under Network Profile select: My Work Network and then click ok.

Factory Reset for Treo 700p and 680 smartphones
If you've set a password on your smartphone, any hard reset will automatically become a Factory Reset. With this method, you'll enter a password and then perform a hard reset.
On your smartphone, launch the Security application.
2.If the Password box says "Unassigned," tap the box and create a password for your smartphone.
3.Once the password has been set, disconnect your smartphone from the AC charger and take off the battery cover. Do not remove the battery yet.
4.Hold down Power/End .
5.While holding down Power/End , remove the battery. Then insert it again.
6.While still holding Power/End , the screen will show the Palm logo and a progress bar. Then the circular Palm Powered logo will appear. Release the power button when you see the Palm Powered logo.
Keep holding the Power button during this screen. When you see this screen, you can release the Power button.
7.A message will appear warning that you are about to erase all the data stored on your smartphone. Press UP.
8.If you performed this reset correctly, the screen will go blank after several minutes, and you will not be able to turn on your device. The charging LED will not light up. (any other activity - such as the Palm OS logo and then the Applications launcher appearing - means the reset was performed incorrectly; try again) 9.Your device will appear "dead." To wake up your smartphone, perform a soft reset.
