Question about Amana ARB2257CSR Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

Amana bottom freezer refrigerator

When I open the top refrigerator section, there is condensation on both the bottom of the plastic part of the door, as well as on the plastic bottom of the refrigerator itself. Is this from a bad door gasket?

Could be the cause. check by putting a slip of paper between seal and cabinet and with door shut, check paper is gripped all round the door. if it is not, try warming the seal with a hairdryer in the faulty place and pulling the seal out gently. many of these seals are foamed in and impossible or v dificult to replace. check also that the hinges are not worn

Water on floor - french door refrigerator with freezer below

Yes the bottom compartment does have a drain opening but to see it you will need to remove the rear panel covering the evaporator inside the back wall of the freezer compartment. See item location number 11 on page 3 of the parts list. That will need to be removed so you can reach the drain inside the freezer compartment. The fresh food section also has a drain. Freezer door opens when fridge door closes

if you are worried that the freezer is empty....fill it with plastic bottles of water...remember tho, don't fill the bottles completely as frozen water expands.

Amana freezer is cold, fridge is not.

You will be able to hear it when you open the freezer door and hold the door switch in.It is located behind the rear panel inside the freezer. The fan should be running when the compressor is running. If it is running make sure the damper(vent) to the fridge side is not blocked by ice and that the damper door is open.

if you have condensation 1- not enough air flow for circulation and 2- a bad seal around the door

Amana ARB2117BW - Bottom Freezer Door Won't Stay Sealed

This problem was posted in the wrong section. My model didn't have it's own, so its in ABB1927DE Bottom Freezer Refrigerator - perhaps you could create a section for it.

As it turns out, I looked more closely at the baskets inside. We had noticed that if the top basket was slid all the way forward when we closed the door that it would close better. So I looked to see if they or the slides were out of alignment. They seemed ok, but then I saw that the way the bottom basket was hanging didn't seem right - it was not quite nestled into it's retainer slot. I took the baskets out and turned the bottom one around. It fit perfectly into it's retainer slot. I then replaced the top one (it was already in correctly) and closed the door. It sealed correctly the first time. I tested it several times after that and it sealed tightly. Closing the top door did not make it unseal as it had done before.
