Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and you will see that the last icon on the right is a lock with a circle around it this locks/unlocks screen rotation
I would do a hard reboot. To do this you should hold down the vol up, vol down, and power buttons. This should bring you into recovery mode. Others seem to be having similar issues. Warranty?
Hi, I have the HTC One S too, and just got my screen rotation problem solved. It wasn't rotating either, even though auto rotation was checked, it was stuck in landscape mode. Then, I uninstalled a few apps that I didnt think were needed anymore, like a game, pixlr express, tango, and a dictionary app.. after that I cleaned the app cache and problem was solved without even restarting. I'm not sure why that worked, but you can try and see it if works for you. I hope it works :)
