It's likely your external drive developed a fault. You could try data recovery software yourself. But the quickest and easiest way I can suggest to recovery your files is an online data recovery service like http://FreeDataRecovery.us

They offer both remote data recovery and do-it-yourself data recovery advice.

SOURCE: Computer doesn't recognize drive anymore

Advice,

Sounds like you are swapping this external drive between two PC's. Why don't you do this! Get it connected to one of your PC's preferrably your desktop. Once you get it connected and it is able to be read and you can read files or acces it! Share it out, under Windows XP you can share out drives, files, printers etc.

Once you do this both PC's can share this device without you having to swap between PC's manually!
I can walk you through this if you need further help, but if this persists, it sounds like your files are corrupt on this drive you may need to reformat the drive.

Helo any1 there...i hv a compaq pressario cq40 144tu laptop with 2gb ram installed with windows 7 home basic 64 bit..it is recently crashed now i want to install 32 bit windows 7 on it.but the installation...

Downgrading from 64bit to 32 bit is not possible

the drivers that work in 64bit don't work in 32bit
64bit windows on a 64bit processor would work faster and more efficiently than a 32bit version of windows, i'd recommend against installing 32bit Win7 when you already have 64bit

if you do end up downgrading visiting the Compaq site and looking in their downloads section should lead you to some drivers for your laptop

however, if you got Win7 64bit as stock with your laptop 32bit windows might not be supported by the manufacturer

I want to install win7premium32-bit to my pc

It requires at least 2 gb ram and c2 duo or higher. Be sure you have that min with your pc. next you need windows cd. insert it int drive and press F3 or any key to boot with cd. It's then very simple just do as pc says. In format using type choose NTFS next just proceed as directed and you are done.

Which is better laptop deal?

Hi !!

Ofcourse 2.4 ghz is better than 2.1 ghz but its not a very big difference if price difference is more than 100$ than go for first one else second one is good and the most important thing i want to mention is that it all depends upon your needs you havent mention for what purpose you are going to purchase. But both are enough for gaming, daily use and for techie as well.

Hope that helps
Thanks

Amd turion x2 rm70 vs intel core 2 duo t5750!!!!

I read this and don't believe you - yes the AMD dual core gets hot - yes AMD processor are HOT processors - is intel better - no there on par with AMD - the thu put rate is so close it doesn't matter - now vista basic is just that BASIC - if you want to bump it up - home premium 32 or 64 but ultimate 64 should get it going.

Buying a laptop

I wasn't aware they still put mobile Pentium 4 processors in laptops. If you can, you should get an Intel Core Duo or Core 2 Duo.

Other than that, the specs look pretty good. You might want to upgrade to 2GB of RAM though if your computer is going to be running Windows Vista.
