WHEN I TURN THE MACHINE ON IT MAKE A LOUD MOTOR LIKE NOICE AND THE PRINTER ERROR COMES UP!! I DO NOT HAVE THE DOCUMENTATION THAT COMES WITH THE PRINTER SINCE IT WAS GIVEN TO ME USED.
The ribbons to my printerhead Kodak 3250 have become detached, has anyone any idea how to reattch them?
E pson are very naughty when it comes to printers as when the have done 60-70,000 prints something tells you that you need to take it to engineer to fix the problem. All they do is connect it to programme of theres and it resets the counter to zero. Most people just throw the printer in te bin and buy a new one. This could be what is happening to your printer. This means that people will go out and buy one of theirs.I have had the same problem.
This is a "General Error" issue, not a service required one.
It's likely that either a sensor in the printer is damaged (possibly a ribbon cable has come detached)... or more likely there is some foreign body or printer part that's come loose and is blocking the printhead carriage path.
A common one I've seen with the C86 and similar is for the head cleaning part become detached from the parking pad (all based far right)... When it does this it springs up into the printheads path and stops it from reaching the parking position.
It requires patience to fix (and some rubber gloves to avoid ink mess) but if notice a part doing an impression of a jack in the box then you can usually gently push the part down and then careful maneuver it over to the right into a connection with the parking pad part.
It's hard to describe without pictures but it gives you an idea of what to look for.
