When I send anything to the printer it doesnt print automatically, I have to hold down the green button to get it to print every time. Is there something I can do to get it to print without having to do this?

Obviosly your magazine (Place of taking paper) of the printer is set to legal. The lights is lighting, couse the printer is telling you: You want me to print on letter, but I don have any letter, so please confirm that you want me to print on legal. In order to avoid this set the printer to all types of paper available.
Perform am EEPROM reset: Service Mode This printer has a service mode for service-related settings and for performing test prints. The operator panel buttons are used to enter the desired service mode. Service Mode Operations 1) With the printer powered off, hold down the resume button and press the power button. 2) While holding down the power button, release the resume button and press the resume button twice in succession. Now release the power button. The indicator will blink in green and remain lit in green. 3) Select one of the following service mode functions by pressing the resume button the specified number of times. Press Resume Indicator Functions Zero times Green Power off the printer 1 time Orange Service test print 2 times Green EEPROM information print 3 times Orange EEPROM initialization 4 times Green Waste ink counter setting 5 times Orange Destination settings 6 times Green Print head deep cleaning 7 times Green CD-R test print 8 times Orange CD-R print position correction (horizontal) 9 times Green CD-R print position correction (vertical) 4) Execute the function you have selected (except for model setting) by pressing the power button. The printer will switch itself off after performing the function.
Having the same problem here... very random... send a print job of labels and it will print the whole lot, or freeze at random points but always halfway through a label... no error message... unplug usb and replug doesnt do anything, but unplug and replug power and off it goes printing more lables but may even freeze again after only a few more have come out... also, every day the first print job of the day prints half the label and pauses for about 10 seconds then keeps going...

Make sure the cable hasn't died, and check to see if the printer is working by printing a test page, usually done on HP's by pressing and realeasing the green go button, or holding down the power button. If the printer responds, and the cable is ok as far as you know, check and maybe reinstall the drivers with the disk that came with it.
check the settings on the printer and see what is set when it come to print from what trays? If the does not work, reset the printer by holding down the go button or on some printers its the ready button while powering it on and it will reset.

1. Turn off printer 2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button. 3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go. 4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go. 5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking. 6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times. 7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not, press the Power button once more. 8. Your printer should respond as normal
Turn off printer
Hold down green button
Power on printer. (cold reset)
In printer properties choose print directly to printer, then choose print test page.
