Acer travelMate 2482 WXMi modem not installed so that i cannot create create a dial up . It is asking for installing modem, but i missed my installtion cd.

Reinstalling apps:
1. If in Windows - Start - Programs - Acer empowering technology - Acer E-recovery management -
click on Restore at bottom then "Reinstall apps and drivers" - look for hardware drivers that you
need. Click "install now"

    ok, this acer site is useless, on the link provided click notebook, then your notebook make, which will be travelmate 2480 series, then click on modem driver and download

Acer Travelmate 250 wireless problem
Dear carlosdperez,
When you try to connect to the internet, you must create the new internet connection first, this because you use the difrerent hardware or modem to connect to the net. All you have to do is configure the new connection use your UK SKY Sagem modem and fill all the required input include your dial up number and so on. This is HOW:

Start Menu>Connect To>Show All Connection>Create The New Connection>>>> Follow the wizard>PRESS Next>Connect To Internet>Setup Connection Manually>Choose your Hardware/Modem (UK SKY Sagem Modem)>Use Dial Up Modem>Enter Your Connection Name>Enter Your dial-up Numbers>Enter Your Passwords>Confirm>DONE.

Since it succeeded, you should see the new connection on Start Menu>Connect To>>>

Xp won't start
Do you have the recovery disc that should have came with your computer? if so install it and run your computer. It should ask you about install or repair. Click on repair to replace missing startup files. If you dont have one you can order one thru acer.

WEBCAM NOT WORKING? My Acer TravelMate 2482 wxmi is a couple of years old. We were using an ancient telephone line internet and e-mail connection, but have now (yesterday) upgraded to ADSL. A couple of advertised features are still not working properly and we will be arranging for a technician from the service provider to visit us on Monday to sort these things out. However, he will not be interested in the built-in web camera, which does not seem to be working. It has not worked since almost the very beginning. What steps do we need to take to make it work? (My wife and I are electronically retarded, so please don't explain in technolese). Many thanks. Willie.
