Means the laptop is dirty inside, AND the Thermal Paste compound on the Processor, may have dried up.

(Graphics chipset too, if it has one. Otherwise it is part of the processor. Integrated Graphics)

Fan running continuously means the Processor is overheating.
Like I said; dirty computer inside, and dried up Thermal Paste.

Now,...........if you post the laptop manufacturer, and model number; you will get detailed info on repairing; and not this generic cr@p.
Model number is on the Bottom of the laptop.

Post back in a Comment.

SOURCE: computer wont start

I ran into the same problem with my Armada E500. In my case, it was a faulty RAM module. What I would suggest is start by removing the battery, and the charger. Then continue by removing the plastic section above your keyboard (there is a single screw holding it in place on the rear end of the laptop. This plastic covers the right-hand hindge) from there, there are four plastic tabs that you slide down to remove the keyboard. This will give you clear access to the ram. Remove the module(s) and, using a soft eraser, gently clean the contacts. If your laptop has two sticks of ram, I would also recommend putting them in opposite ram slots. After that, replace the keyboard and plastic bezzel, reconnect the battery and charger, and try to boot it up again

SOURCE: my acer one netbook won't boot

This is a common problem with the Acer Aspire one. Apparently, the BIOS needs to be flashed using a flash disk with the required files.

Unfortunately, the files are not available at any website but you can take the Aspire one to any Acer service center and they should be able to flash the BIOS for you free of cost.

SOURCE: laptop wont turn on orange light flashing on front

There could e a problem with the battery. A fast check to determine whether you have a problem with the power adapter, power cord or the laptop's battery is to turn off the laptop, remove the battery, connect the power adapter, turn on the laptop & see if it works.
If the laptop works directly from the power adapter with the battery removed, then the power adapter is good. In this case we can suspect that the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.

Try also to reseat the main components of the notebook: the battery, the AC adapter, the memory modules, & the hard drive.
After that try switching it on & see if the problem was fixed.

Toshiba Satellite L450 black screen on startup no fune sound

OK, you get the yellow light which I assume happens when you plug in the power cord even though you have not pressed the Power Button. So, when you pressed the Power Button, did you see any other lights flashing such as the disk drive light? Did you hear the Fan running and the Disk Drive running? Did you hear the DvD/CD drive click once or the light on the DvD/CD drive door flash? If you did see the aforementioned that means your system is trying to boot and might in fact completed the boot process but the Video is not displaying. If it seems like the computer is running by no video is displaying try shinning a flashlight on the screen to see if you can faintly see the icons or something on the screen. If so that means your LCD Inverter is probably bad and needs to be replaced. You could attach an external monitor to the laptop then press and hold the FN (Function Key) + the (F1 thru F12) key that corresponds to displaying on an external monitor. If the video shows on the external monitor then surely you have an issue with the Laptop's screen. If the laptop is not running and you hear no fans, no disk drive running and saw no lights then you probably have a motherboard issue. Get a quote from your local repair shops, then try the guys at: http://www.generalsystemsconsulting.com. They will repair it and ship it back by Fedex or UPS and most times their prices will beat any quote you find including shipping.

My samsung r519 wont turn on. when i press the on button i here the fan going, yet the screen stay's black and only the power light comes on. what could the problem be?

Does the fan stay running? if it does! it is probably a motherboard issue, if the fan is working correctly it should wind down, and if the hard drive is working "hard drive light will flicker" hook a external monitor to the video output on the back of your laptop if you see windows boots up then it would indicate laptop screen problem, but if the fan and the power light are the only activity then the motherboard is the problem.

Toshiba Satellite A25-S207 won't boot. When the power button is pressed, a single beep is heard and the power on indicator on front of laptop turns from green to flashing yellow. The fan is also comes on...

This is a very old computer. There could be a number of things causing this symptom. Best bet is to take it to a local shop, not a big box store, for their opinion. My guess is it is not worth fixing.

If this answers your question, I'd appreciate 4 thumbs. I do this for fun and do not get paid.

When pluged into outlet fans spins and doesnt stop, wont boot

Fan spinning hard is usually a CPU issue.
If you've made any hardware changes to your computer, undo them. This happened to me when I was trying to upgrade my Processor (CPU) and I had the wrong kind.

Screen will not come on hard drive light no light checked power supply is ok

Things to check:
  1. Power led on the front of the tower, it should be solid green when on. Flashing Amber is generally an indication of a bad power supply inside the tower
  2. Power LED Solid AMBER indicates system is not finishing the power on self test (POST) and you remove all connections from the tower except power and try turning on again. If no change, remove all PCI and PCI-E cards from system, try again, no change replace motherboard.
  3. On the back of the tower are 4 diagnostic LEDs near the ps2 ports marked ABCD, after the POST, during a normal boot the will flash in several sequences and with boot is finished all 4 should be green. If they stop an a different pattern, then that indicates a failure Yellow Yellow Green Green indicate bad RAM for example
  4. If the LEDs on front and back are Green then the system appears to be booting but the monitor display is not functional
