Changing the text on my fax.

We have a Canon FAX-L800. When we send faxes from it the text that comes up such as return fax number and company name is incorrect. I want to know how to change this information..??

Lift up the cover under the display and press the data registration key, push "set" then scroll down using the arrow keys and look for "user setting" push set, and I think you scroll to the option that says terminal id push set enter your new name and push set again then you can enter your fax number. at any time push the stop key to exit out

TELEPHONE HOOK-UP REQUIREMENTS

Just a plain telephone cord, plug it in. Go into setup and setup your fax name and number that will appear on the fax your sending. Set the number of rings before answering. Place a test fax call to some fax machine.

Send a one page black and white text fax to 1-888-hpfaxme (1-888-473-2963).
When your fax is received by the HP Test Fax Service, we will generate a return fax to you within five minutes confirming that we received your fax. This verifies that you can both send and receive a fax with your fax machine.

If you do not receive a return fax within 5-7 minutes, there may be a problem with the setup of your fax machine. Consult the user manual that came with the product for proper setup and configuration.

on all fax pages you send. The telephone number you enter will be printed only
on your cover pages and call back messages. (See Composing Electronic Cover

1 Press Menu, 1, 3.
2 Enter your fax number (up to 20
digits), and then press Set. You must
enter a fax number to proceed.
3 Enter your telephone number (up) to
20 digits), and then press Set.
If your telephone number and fax
number are the same, enter the same
number again. The number appears
on Cover pages.
4 Use the dial pad to enter your name
(up to 20 characters), and then press
Set.

5 Press Stop/Exit.
The LCD returns to the date and time.
If your Station ID has already been programmed, the LCD prompts “1” to make
a change, or “2” to exit without changing.

Have a Canon FAX-L800 that we want to use on a Telstra Duet line, is this possible? Can't see any mention in the manual.

I'm not sure what you mean but if you are referring to a dual line then no. You cannot have two lines coming into the L800.

the problem is the fax that are stored in memory you will lose anyway.

you will need to do the following to get rid of your error:

DATA REGISTRATION button,
and # button, on the operation panel

go down to number 8

then scroll round to ALL

and then restart the machine and the fault should go.
