SOURCE: Receiver does not recognize AM/FM signal.

the FM/AM signal has separate inputs ,One RCA input for FM and AM as Speakers connectors. And
diferent arials cables, so if anyone doesnt receive signal or too low signal.
This a tipical Internal Tuner malfunction, needs to be repaired, or checked, by specialized tecnician.

Type of cabel for a woofer for a Kenwood VR 505 receiver

That would depend a lot on the subwoofer, which you did not name. I'll assume it's a self-powered model of some sort.

A sngle RCA cable from the Subwoofer Preout wll get you started. The other end is unknown.

You'll aslo have to set up the recever to know it has a subwoofer and other parameters. Find the manual at retrevo.com.

My receiver got a little water in it. It will come on now but shuts back off. Is it shot or can it be fixed

in the words of my teacher jb wilson 57 yrs repairing electronics long now passed. "anything can be fixed its just how much you want to pay" yes it can be fixed but of all things water is electronics worst enemy. i would suggest you get a good quote. from a local repair shop but yes being water i would not like your chances.

best of luck ..

Receiver does not recognize AM/FM signal.

From what I know all receivers need an antenna, there should be a connection in the back for one. Sometimes you can just use a piece of wire if you live in a large city.

Surround sound

The unit has only 2 channels of output thus, cannot provide surround format. Depending on your sound needs, you will have to shop around for a good 5.1 or 7.1 surround unit
