My dryer seems to be partially working. There's power coming in for sure because the light lights up in the dryer. But there's nothing working on the front control panel. No light, nothing. I tried to press all buttons but no "response".

SOURCE: No pwer in Control panel but light is on the the dryer

You may have blown one of the two circuit breakers at the building fuse box. Sometimes they are physically linked together so that both trip at the same time. This is how it's suppose to work but sometimes one will trip leaving you with half power but enough to work the minor circuits. Resetting the circuit breaker is an easy fix. If this doesn't work ohm out the thermal fuses. They are ususally accessable by lifting the top. With it open check that all connector are connected.

My whirlpool duet dryer will not power on. I dried a load this morning. Put another load in and it will not turn on. It has power as the inside light comes on when door open. Will not power on. Help.

Try unplugging for about 10 minutes. If it still doesn't work check the outlet with a meter and make sure you have 240 volts (120 volts on each side). The internal light runs on 12p so if you have one side of the 24p line powered up the 120volt circuits may still operate. Also make sure one of the two breakers (usually connected together with w pin or a metal plate) didn't try to partially trip

With some loads even very light ones the dryer stops and must be rest every 5 min or so

This is usually caused by a thermal fuse. There are several through out the dryer to ensure it doesn't overheat/cause a fire/damage clothes/ damage parts. Some are a one time fuse and requires repair to get it working again. Since it does come back on after a few minutes, it is probably the thermal breaker on the exhaust line out of the dryer and can usually be fixed by a thorough cleaning of the lint trap to the exhaust ouput, usually outdoors. If this doesn't work, a partial disassemble and deep cleaning of heating elements, squirrel cage, motor etc. I can seem intimidating but not too hard if you take pictures as you disassemble. Don't forget to disconnect the power/turn off the gas.
