A few months ago, my laptop's battery was low, so I plugged it in and nothing happened, and it died. I tried to plug it in again and turn it on, and it just died again. I initally thought that it was the battery, so I ordered a new battery that just came today and when I put it it, my laptop turned on for about a min. and it died again. I have no idea what is going on, but I have many important files on my laptop which I need to recover. HELP ME!!
Do you have access to a multimeter? If so, check the voltage that is being put out by your power supply and make sure it matches the voltage that is supposed to be going out, typically around 19 v or so. It sounds like the power supply itself could be bad. If that is the case, then it is the DC connector in your computer that it attaches to.
