Your TV power supply board is damage and will soon cause your TV to not power on. Yes, cleaning the fan will only temporary fix the situation but eventually you will need to fix the power supply board. You can order one on ebay or amazon but make sure to have the correct serial/model number on the back of the TV before ordering and fixing it yourself. However, if you are not sure then have a certified tech to come see it.
Hi, basically it needs to be receiving a signal for it to operate. eg. with my one i connect my decoder into it and once the decoder is on the tv turns on. good thing with this monitor is that i just need to turn the decoder off and the screen turns off shortly after. hope this helps.
