A couple of weeks my dishwasher wouldn't start. I pushed buttons and nothing happened. The next evening (fortunately before I called a repair service) it started up and worked fine..Three days ago it did the same thing, no lights, no action. I have reset the circuit breaker twice with no results. It is a Bosch SHX46A02UC and only 16 months old. Any ideas?
I'm having the same problem. Could it be the power switch? Usually the cycle choices light up when it is depressed and nothing is happening now, so I do not know if it could be the door switch, since nothing at all lights up when the switch is pressed.I'm having the same problem. The door switch is definitely not the problem if the indicator lights are not coming on. These lights are supposed to come on when the door is open.
The problem is 1 of 3 things:
1) No power to outlet that DW is plugged into;
2) Bad connection where power cord is connected to dishwasher (see very bottom front, under kick panel)
3) Some problem internal to the DW (eg., bad switch, shorted wire, etc., )
Our SHX46A is definitely having problem 3, but Bosch's manual gives zero help. So, off to find more info online or, lastly, to call Bosch repair person. Sigh.
1/4/2012 Our non-power problem was the controller. (The circuit board containing the wash cycle buttons). We Just had the service tech out today. Took him all of about 20 minutes. Good thing for us is that part is warrantied for 5 years and ours is 4 but less than 5.
Service call was $94.
IF We would have had to buy the part out of warranty it would have been an additional $98 or so.
Was happy that it was still under warranty but worst case would have been about $200 in this situation.

Maybe you did not connect it properly in the first place. Try to ask a Tecnician to check the power Supply board cos next time you might not be able to start it
That is like asking why your grass grows faster one week than the next
You use the window switch a lot --- so start there
Next, is the window regulator or cable broken -when
that happens the window usually falls down
The window motor may have fail in some way
I know you should check for a blown fuse but the other
windows work & if it did blow replacing it won't do a thing
If you have & know how to use a volt meter on any setting,
start by getting access to the switches
I doubt the locks are even on the same circuit
Personally I wouldn't even approach the vehicle
without a wiring diagram
Like going on a road trip,no map,why leave home
won't find anything or get to any place
Most people ask a question & go to a repair shop
or try thing the hard way because it costs nothing
You have an intermittent contact somewhere that vibrations will every once in a while restore contact. I would clean and crimp every stinking electrical connection in the unit including the door switch. You do that, and I am sure the unit will be fine..
did you hold the start/resume button for at least 3 seconds if this works the dishwasher will start ok but if there is a fault it will fail again best you contact your nearest service agent good luck
we have a 4 yr. old built in dishwasher, model #665-15812,the lock-on light is blinking, and the wash and rinse lights are on,but if we push start ,it won't,and if we push the clear button,it won't clear,it's like it's stuck ....we've tried un-plugging,etc....any ideas,on what to do??? donnie-sue79
Had the same problem, removed the kick panel to find a set of instructions under the insulation, had to push a sequence of the panel buttons, its been running great for a couple of weeks now!

I'm having the same problem. Could it be the power switch? Usually the cycle choices light up when it is depressed and nothing is happening now, so I do not know if it could be the door switch, since nothing at all lights up when the switch is pressed.
