How to install iphoto pictures on sandisk extreme

Hi Martk
Not sure what you mean by install - do you mean copy ?
Insert your Sandisk and make sure you cn see it on the desktop.Open iPhoto and resixe the window so that you can see the sandisk icon.Select the picturs you want (by dawing boxes around thewm - they highlight with yellow lines as a rule when they are selected) then drag one of the selected pictures on to the sandisk. You should get a green blob showing how many pictures you selected and a + sign. That's it. y0ou can drag photos out of the iphot window as if they were ardinartu files in a folder. They do not get moved but they copy automatically to wherever you drag them - even on to the desktop.

Pro photographers avoid this very common problem by always using a diskreader. You've found that this method works very well so stop worrying and enjoy. As far as the problem with the pics on the internal memory of the camera, go into the menu and find "copy". It will give you the option to copy the internal memory to a memory card.

My iphoto icon on deck has a ciricle with a line though it which means no. I can not open iphoto. it states it could be damaged .

Hi there, there is a easy fix to this problem. What you are first wanting to do is to make a backup of your iPhoto library. The default place is User(Your Home Folder) / Pictures/ iPhoto Library. What you are going to want to do is right click the iPhoto library and select duplicate. Then just click and drag that new iPhoto library you just made to the desktop. Now what you want to do is to install iLife again. Just insert the iLife disk and follow the on screen instructions. Once that is done you should be able to open iPhoto again. If for some reason when you open iPhoto and your photos are not there, then close iPhoto and you want to place the new iPhoto Library that we put on the desktop into U ser(Your Home Folder) / Pictures/ Now drop the iPhoto Library and make sure that it is called iPhoto Library and not iPhoto Library Duplicate, if that is the case then right click the file name and click get info, then just rename it iPhoto Library. Now you are done, open iPhoto and you should have all your photos again.
If for some reason this still does not work, then once again close iPhoto, this time we are going to open it agin but while we open it we are going to hold the option key down too. A menu should pop-up asking you what library you would like to use, all you want to do is select the one that says is located in User(Your Home Folder) / Pictures/ iPhoto Library.

I hope this helps you, Justin

Lost iphoto back catalog after an import, is there anyway to recover these photos?

the back catalog of your images are not gone. Since the pictures you have uploaded form your camera to iPhoto all those files are still there. All you need to do is re-load the images into the library of iPhoto.
1) Start iPhoto, then in the menu goto File / Add to library..
2) Then a file browsing window will open, all you need to do is locate the folder in which u had specified to iPhoto. (Default location for iPhoto is located at MainHD / Users / Username / Pictures / iPhoto Library
3) Once you have located the folder or folders you wish to add to your library or catalog just press import. And all the images should show in the catalog.
4) if you have more pictures saved in another folder, then repeat steps 1 to 3 again. but in step 2 locate the folder or drive you wish to import from.
