Check the batteries voltage and check to see if the battery is being supplied charge voltage when the computer is off. If both these are good then your low battery message is in error. No charge voltage would mean faulty charger and low battery voltage would mean faulty battery.

SOURCE: low battery alert at start up. must always type

The only battery in a desktop PC is the CMOS battery. This is a 10c sized silver disc that is held in a plastic black clip on the Motherboard. It can be clipped out and easily replaced. they are 3.6v and somewhere like Radio Shack etc. will have them.

SOURCE: PC said that Alert! System battery is too

The motherboard has a large , round battery on it - it's used to remember the setting of the BIOS.
In your case that battery is worn out and it must be replaced - $5 at every watch and battery shop, just pop it out and ask for an replacement.

Hey,

there is a 3 volt flat battery inside the computer, it in most cases clearly visible.

Replace it with the same type of battery, then adjust the clock in the system setup.

All done, all fine.

SOURCE: when booting my dell optiplex

i think this is the problem about your cmos battery so first you change your cmos battery contained in your lap top.it is attached with your laptop motherboard.

How come my dell e521 wont boot up after replacing cmos battery?

Your computer has other problem than the CMOS battery. Most of the desktops if not all can start without battery. Moreover if the battery was used up or very low in power usually the Dell desktops will let you know about it so you can replace it. I suggest you disconnect all drives and extra PCI cards. After turnning the pc on you will notice if the Bios screen shows up quickly. Then add one component at the time and see if you can find what is causing the problem.

Alert System battery voltage is low

If it's installers correctly , reseat it and verify. Try unplugging the machine for a few minutes. Did you try to reset the Time in BIOS?

When I powered on my GX620 desktop computer, I got a "low battery" message. How do I resolve this problem?

There is a very small watch battery on the mother board. You will need to replace that. This battery keeps the time and various bios settings alive when the computer does not have power.

If you have another keyboard try swapping it out and see if it reads the new one. Also a stuck key could possibly cause this error. System battery message probably means you need a new battery for the motherboard. If you replace the battery get the new one before removing the old one. If you leave it out too long you can clear the CMOS

I have a dell GX 270 that has orange light on mother board, shuts down randomly, seems hot, and says Alert! System battery voltage is low. The fan is running but doesn't kick out much air..

The battery message means you need to change the battery on the motherboard, it looks like a coin about the size of a nickel. Which fan is malfunctioning, the power supply fan, the case fan, or the processor fan?
