It's could be the high temperature switch cutting it off and after it cools down it resets itself. Check the vent for any lint build up. Clean it out and make sure the vent hose doesn't have any sharp bends in it.
It should be 1 1/4 into the well tank but can be reduced after that. Reducing the line before well tank may cause the well pump to run in excess trying build pressure and shorten lifespan of pum. RJ
I presume your pump is having a separate power supply. It is to operate if and when there is power outage. Am I right? Check your Shur-Dri backup pump. Plug it to another power source, and switch it on. If it runs, then the problem could be power supply. Have this checked using voltage tester (multitester set at 300 volts) or you may use an electric bulb.
