2005 Chrysler Pacifica: Brothers and Sisters Help ME!!!! My water pump went out. I had the water pump changed, the Timing done, oil changed, lower radiator hose done. Then I drove it for about a week and the upper radiator hose began to pop-off once my car heats up. I changed the hose clamp from the squeeze clamp to the screw tight clamp and the upper radiator hose popped-off. Then I asked the guy did he changed the thermostat and he says my thermostat looked good. I said guy change the thermostat (question in the middle of a question people - How exactly do you change this thermostat? Do not leave out the part about lining it up and fitting in the groove please! He changed the thermostat it ran well for a week and then the upper radiator hose popped off again. I take it back then he did a modification to the thermostat which worked 2 days and now it runs HOT!!! 2005 Pacifica 163k ml and I am the 2nd owner. Please help, sorry for the lengthy question!
If radiator hose pops out is because pressure builds up when water expands due to the normal operating temperature of coolant when car runs, that pressure should move to the expansion tank instead and wait to be sucked in when engine and coolant cool off. Check the line from radiator to expansion tank and you're losing coolant, add some more every time after each driving circle when engine is cold until you figure out what's wrong, it will save you bigger troubles.
Usually, hoses pop off if the radiator/expansion tank cap is incorrect/broken. Find out if this "mechanic" changed the cap, if they did, get the old one back or get a replacement from the dealer. I have never gotten a dependable replacement from any parts stores. If they didn't change it, change it anyway and see what happens.

water pump ,its a plastic impeller and its loose on the shaft ,,,,,had one a while ago exactly the same but the first time i came across this on a saab i done the same as you ,changed everything ,felt a right you know what

Probably not water pump. Engine is notourious for vapour lock.
Cooling system must be blead of air before thermostat will work. Cool bottom rad hose is a dead give away. If you are still watching this forum reply , and I will walk you through the only way I know how to make it work properly. It's actually easy if you do it my way. I have worked on lots of cars , and this engine was the hardest to bleed out. Did one Yesterday , and works perfect.

REPLACE UPPER RADIATOR HOSE IT IS TOO SOFT WORN OUT CAUSE HOSE TO CLASP.I WOULD REMOVE THERMOSTAT FLUSH ENGINE BLOCK AND RADIATOR COOLANT SYSTEM NEED FLUSHING OUT.

The washer pump is located in the bottom of your windsheild washer reservoir. You will have to remove the wheel well cover to access it and check the plug in harness to make sure it is connected. Place a voltmeter on the to leads of the harness and have an assistant push the windshield washer button with ignition on. There you will see if your getting volts to the end of the harness. If you do, then the pump is bad. Replace it while you have access to it.
