The screen is green? - Hitachi 60VS810 60" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

The Green CRT has shorted and causing the green to become dominate is the most likliest cause. The Green CRT will most likely need replacement.

visit your local service center. you cant do anything more up to this point

This is the exact same issue as I described for an Epson user. So I'll repeat it here.

I assume this is an LCD. I don't remember the s4 being a DLP projector.

This sounds like the LCD panel used for the green color has gone out. The image is made up of red, green and blue images layered upon the screen. If the green panel has gone out then there is nothing filtering out the green light in the image. This causes a nice green hue to the whole screen.

It could be a simple open and reconnect fix. I personally have never opened a projector, so I'm not going to walk you through it as I do not know how hard it would be to tinker with. It should eb a cheap fix for a true repair man though.

Hi, how is the cable box hooked up to the TV? Is it HDMI cable or componet (red/green/blue) ? When you say totally green, do you mean the the picture is only green with the other colors missing or every color looks green ?

Green CRT bad = take off lower front cover, remove access panel
locate screen / focus block.....turn green screen control slightly
CCW............................re-assemble...........T.

green tint & screen dark means that there is a problem in green video circuit. 1 check green video supply . 2 components in green video ckt. 3 adjustment in green video section. 4 check for signal to green video.

check on crt board green amp transister and associated ckt should be short. or green drive transister,or main jungle ic which drive green signal is sure defective, i had the same problem in rca 32 inch tv for all screen red,replacing chroma ic solved the problem.

Re-check hook up on focus/screen adjust assembly.Adjust RGB screen controls.All green/ no control can be bad green CRT==check w/CRT checker.CRT OK/==diagnosis required.Green video drive circuit??
