Audio drop out and/or static sound Thanks to anyone who has taken a look at my issue with audio cutting out. JVC has always been a brand I have confidence in, and I believe I picked this camera up when those recording to an internal hard drive were out of my range. Last summer, I received a fantastic deal on some JVC Evarios, so GR-D250 duo would be used only as back-up, BUT, I have a ton of old Mini DV tapes -- never recorded over anything. I would find the heads needing cleaning solution highly unlikely. The first 250 recorded the bulk of those 150 or Mini DV's and worked like a champ. Because of legal depositions for lawyers and like, who may not want for me to call time-out in a deposition to switch tapes and the fact that eventually my first was going to give out, having a back-up and eventually multiple seemed like the thing to do. Having a couple of friends film some sports events I could my mix radio play-by-play I could with dual camera angles was cool. This same-year model second buy had sat in storage; The original tape the who sold it to me with 10 minutes of footage came with it. I could tell the battery was so much stronger after a full charge than my old one, but this newer D250 has maybe had 1/10 the recording time as my original. Whether listening to the camera speakers, piping the sound from the rear A/V jack or importing via firewire, it's the same. The video may not be perfect and may "spark" or "flicker" in unison with the audio that drops out,but not always. At times, the video seems just fine but the audio drop-out is akin to a loop and I could probably time it, which was what I termed as cyclical. Could one of my friends have dropped it or tipped over a tripod and not told me? Sure, but I would think they would have told me. One night, follow some high school hoops I was importing, excited at the prospects of some two camera angles mixing. Thought I may have had a bad tape, but ruled that out right away through trying multiple tapes in bother cameras. Apologies for my loquacious follow-up; I suppose if worse comes to worse, I could check eBay for a secondhand model. I've "misplaced" my original, but it will turn up; it's simply a matter of desiring to import all that footage, since 2008, with superior editing software and skill than what I possessed when doing so initially. Thanks so much!
