Possible your outlet filter is blocked, it need periodic cleaning, which the user can do himself. Locate where this is from your user's manual. Clean out, re-fix. Next it could be the hose that goes from the bottom of the tub to the filter pump; check the former first. Well, you have a record of sorts, 30 years!!

How to fix Bosch Classixx 6 washing machine pump fault

My Bosch Classixx 6 Express 1200 washing machine suddenly developed three faults at the same time, with no fault codes. The water pump, fill and spin cycles all stopped at the same time. I found that the one of the pump wires had come loose from the connector plug. This will not only stop the drum from emptying but will prevent the machine from filling and also stops the spin cycle. These are all interconnected and controlled by the water pump, which has to be working and connected. Hope this helps. My 11 year old machine is now working perfectly. ,

Washing not getting clean

ok, try this before you consider removing the bowl. 1st-- buy 2 pkts of bicarb of soda. 2nd---make sure machine has no clothes in it. 3rd-- empty the 2 pkts of bicarb of soda into the bowl. 4th-- select traditional wash mode , high water level, hot water fill. 5th-- push start. 6th-- let it fill and wash for about 5 to 10 min, then turn the machine off. DO NOT LET THE WASH CYCLE GET TO THE DRAIN OUT STAGE. ok now the machine is full water and bicarb of soda and turned off, LEAVE IT TILL THE NEXT MORNING.-- In the morning select traditional wash mode, high water level, hot fill , then push the start button. let it go thru the complete cycle and all the lint and dirt should be removed from the bowl. by the way once it has started to wash lift the lid and see if the agitator is working. good luck and please reply to tell me how you got on.

Washing comes out with marks

Yank that dispenser off the top of the agitator and wash some clothes without it.

I have a Samsung SW62ASP top load washing machine. I keep getting chunks of black flaky stuff turning up through my wash. I always empty the in bowl filter, is there another filter?

Hi there,

This is a common problem on washing machines, if you predominantly do cold washes.

Over a period of time, a washing machine will accumulate a buildup of Soap Scum (excess soap & softener residue) which can stick to the inside of the drum.

This black coloured soap scum occasionally breaks away from the drum, and attaches to the clothing fabric during the wash cycle.

You can rectify this, by doing the following:

Firstly, purchase a packet of CITRIC ACID from your local grocery store (usually found in the baking isle).

Do the following procedure before going to bed:

1) Do a HOT WASH without clothes (Hi water level, with HOT water) - allow machine to fill with hot water, then add the CITRIC ACID to the water. Allow the machine to complete a FULL wash cycle (i.e. allow machine to agitate for 30 mins or so, then drain).

2) Fill the machine again with the HOT water / CITRIC ACID solution, but this time allow it to sit in the bowl overnight (no cycle).

3) Next morning, set machine to spin & drain (i.e. to empty the solution)

4) Set machine to fill with FRESH HOT WATER ONLY (no citric acid), then set machine to spin & drain. This will flush all remaining residue left in the bowl.

Note: Soap scum residue is caused by using excess detergent/fabric softener. Hot Water flushing should be done every 6 months.

Contrary to what the detergent manufacturers state, you should follow Samsung's instructions by using HALF the recommended detergent.

Samsung machines prefer LOW SUDS, and you may find by reducing the amount of detergent used, you may even eliminate the buildup of soap scum.

0E flashing on Westinghouse LF708C Washing Machine

Had the same problem. After checking that all the hoses etc were clear and no blockages, then suspected that the pump (cost $90 Australian dollar) was faulty. The Westinghouse service technician acknowledged that that was probably the problem, which I then confirmed by pulling out the pump, and then carefully connecting 240V across the pump terminals. Certainly was a faulty pump. So I spent the money on a new pump and installed it and now the washing machine (6 to 7 years old) works fantastically.

Door locked with over full load, in mid-cycle

Take out the drain hose and syphon off the water into a bowl. When empty lock will open.

Washing Machine will not fill with water

It sounds like the water solenoid has gone bad or stuck closed OR timer/control knob has bad set of contacts which control the solenoid.

Maytag Neptune Top Load Washer - Rinse Cycle won't run - Machine says nF

Sounds like the 'Wash water' is not pumping out fully,You need to drain the water by lowering the empty hose into a bowl & check the pump for a blockage ( if the pump is an 'electric one' check that it is working). TURN POWER OFF FIRST
