Question about Canon MultiPASS C5500 All-In-One InkJet Printer
This Canon Multifunction Printer has been a jewel for over 10 years. Yesterday, 12 JUN 07, when I went to print a Office - Word 2000 - document, with 1 "ClipArt" image, I received the error: "Printhead Cooling", then the !!STOP!! [ALARM] light started a never-ending flashing. I have unplugged this unit; unplugged the bi-directional Printer Cable; cleaned the contacts on the Printer cartridge, as well as the contact on the BJC5500 itself; lubricated the "rails" that the printer cartridge uses, with Radio Shack's "Multi-Purpose Lube Gel"; Installed the latest printer driver(s); Insured that the BIOS settings for this printer matched those in the Windows 98SE Program Manager "Properities"; unplugged the printer, for ten (10) minutes, as well as disconnected the printer's data cable for ten (10) minutes as well. Short of "buying, online" the Printer's Service Manual, I have tried everything I know possible, including "completely uninstalling" the printer, both in the Win98SE enviroment, as well as in the Registry.
Have you tried new cartridges. You can download the manual here: http://www.precision.com/printer_manuals.htm
