It is a yellowish orange small triangle with a exclamation point symbol in the middle and keeps popping up on my phone. i would like to know what it means and is it using up my data.
Usually server certificates would only apply to internet webpages but being as its a cell phone and alot of phones use javascript, i would try doing an update if it is possible on your phone.
It shouldnt be using data if you are not using your phones browser. If its coming up during a game or something like that, try putting your phone on airplane mode while using the app and see if it still functions, if not, then the app is definitly accessing data to function.

That's the notification icon. It indicates that you've "received 2 or more different types of notifications: Voice Missed Calls / Schedule / Call Alarm / Alarm Clock".
Check your Missed Alerts on the phone menu, your alarm clock settings in menu > tools and failing that, try going back through your calendar to see if you've missed any meetings or something there.

I suggest that you take this phone in to have it repaired, the cell phone provider should be able to preform the appropriate actions required to fix this issue. It seems like to me you will need a bios/software flash.

You're in recovery, press vol up and power and you get a small menu where you can select to apply the clockwordmod update.zip to reset your battery stats (assuming you're rooted)
It is the boot rom menu for the device. Just power it off then back on. IF it comes back then your OS on your phone is toast. It means your phone is in recovery mode. Hold down the volume up and power button at the same time, then select the option to reboot by going up or down with the volume keys and pressing the power button to confirm your selection.
