have you tried different usb ports? hit the windows key and the R key at the same time and type diskmgmt.msc and go into disk manager and see if the flash drive shows up in the list of disks installed.

try going on the website, there may be a critical patch for you're driver or mp3

When my computer wouldn't recognize my Pearl, these are the steps I followed after downloading the firmware upgrade from http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2243/related/1

remove the battery,
start the program,
hold the play button while plugging into usb,
release the play button the the term "initializing" replaces "searching",
click the start button to replace the firmware.

You might want to try leaving the "format data" box unchecked the first time. If that doesn't work and allow you to backup your music, bite the bullet and format the data area.

After I did this, my pearl started normally, and my computer recognized it again. It also fixed my aac-error problem.

just open up windows media player and it should recognize as a device

When my Pearl stopped working, I was able to reflash the firmware even though the computer couldn't recognize it when I plugged it in. I would run this from a PC not a MAC if possible, as I haven't tried it on a MAC.

Follow all the instructions that popup when you run the software and you should be fine.

The first time I tried to restore the firmware in my Pearl it would not recognize it. I had to follow all the troubleshooting instructions that popup when you run the software. Basically, try taking the battery out and waiting 10 seconds or so. Run the software and read all the instructions at the bottom of the popup window. then hold the play button, plug your player in, and keep holding that button until the software recognizes it. It works.

You just need to connect this MP3 player to your computer via USB , then wait for the computer to recognize the player and when its already recognize you can just double click MYcomputer computer icon then after that you will find there your MP3 just double click on it then now you can see the content of your MP3 and you can delete and add a new music to it...
