Color Adjustment I can not fiquire out how to adjust the color. I think the problem may lie in the remote control. I'm not sure if it's the correct one or the manufacture's remote for this tv. Maybe I'll try that first. I still want to know what you think just in case I'm wrong.

I have a three year old RCA D52W136D. The only color being displayed is red and it has fine white lines running horizontaly across the screen. Is there a simple remedy for this or am I better off replacing the whole unit?

    Please advise, Thanks a million.

How to adjust color without remote

If your TV has a 'Menu' button on its front panel, you can enter its menu using it, and come towards picture adjustment window, and can change the intensity of color. If there is no such button on its front panel, you must have its remote control to do this.

Problem black and white how to adjust the color.

First check whether you have set to the correct standard NTSC, PAL etc.

If confusing set it to AUTO. All you can try in the menu mode. Try adjusting color if the color adjustment is set low. Try different channel. Try DVD .

If the color still not there, it is a problem from the chromo control circuit.

Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

Oh, it's the colors you are having a problem with. Then you probably want to perform an Auto Gradation Adjustment. It's on pages 162-163 of the manual found here: http://download.support.xerox.com/pub/docs/DocuColor_3535/userdocs/any-os/en/3535_User_Guide.pdf

Here is what it says:

Auto Gradation Adjustment
Auto Gradation Adjustment is a color calibration for the copier and printer. An Auto Gradation Adjustment compensates for differences between the actual and the expected toner densities for each color. An Auto Gradation Adjustment should be performed whenever there is a noticeable change in the appearance (quality) of the output, particularly changes in color
tones or densities. Performing an Auto Gradation Adjustment on a regular basis will help to maintain consistent color quality over time.

NOTE: Since an Auto Gradation Adjustment can affect all jobs for all users, it is recommended that this procedure be performed only by the Machine Administrator.

Copy Job - Text Compensates tones when a text original is copied.
Copy Job - Photo Compensates tones when a photo original is copied.
Print Job Compensates tones when printing with controller line screen.
Network Controller - 1 Compensates tones when printing with Network Controller screen type 1.
Network Controller - 2 Compensates tones when printing with Network Controller screen type 2.

NOTE: Printing the chart for Auto Gradation does not increase the meter count.
NOTE: When gradation adjustment is executed, the following
changes will be made to default copy settings set in System Settings mode: Copy density = Normal or Auto, Color Shift = Normal, Saturation = Normal, Color Balance = 0, Sharpness = 0.
NOTE: When Print or Network Controller gradation adjustment is executed, the printer’s output profiles for the available screen types are compensated.

1 On the Image Quality Adjustment screen, select Auto Gradation Adjustment.
2 Load 8.5x11 inch or A4 paper into Tray 5 (Bypass). Move the paper guide to gently touch the edge of the paper.

3 Select the desired gradation adjustment screen:
• Copy Job - Text
• Copy Job - Photo
• Print Job
• Network Controller - 1
• Network Controller - 2
Press Start. The Adjustment Chart is output.
4 Place the Adjustment Chart face down on the Document Glass with both Magenta color patches against the left side of the glass.
5 Place 5 sheets of white paper on top of the Adjustment Chart and close the DADF. Select Start.
6 To continue Auto Gradation Adjustment with other screens, repeat steps 2 to 5. When you are finished, select Close until the System Settings screen is displayed.
7 Select Exit to exit the System Settings mode.

Color printing

Solution: Manually adjust color from the driver (Windows)

Manual Color Adjustment Follow the steps below to make fine adjustments to the color hue for the printed output. These settings will only make minor color adjustments. If more drastic color adjustment is necessary, use an image editing application.
  1. On the Windows desktop, click 'Start', point to 'Settings', then click 'Printers' (Windows XP: On the Start menu, click 'Printers and Faxes', Windows Vista Click / Select Start from the bottom left of the Windows screen, 'Control Panel', 'Hardware and Sound', and then click on 'Printers'.).

Note: If you are in 'Classic' view, Click 'Printers' directly from the 'Control Panel'.

  2. Windows 2000/XP/Vista: Right-click the printer icon, then click 'Printing Preferences'. Windows 98/Me: Right-click the printer icon, then click 'Properties'.

  3. On the Main tab, select 'Manual' for 'Color Adjustment.'

  4. On the Manual Color Adjustment screen, adjust each color individually to achieve the desired effect.

Note: This screen may vary depending on model.

Can't adjust the color

Sounds like a technician will have to determine if the blue CRT is failing or just needs to be adjusted.
