So it is powering up? On your actual deck will be a picture of the schematics of the wiring. With the system powered up, assuming you taped up the power wires, strip the front left wires coming from the deck and use them as your tester. You now know forsure they are for the front left so as you go through your cars audio wires you will find which wires are for which speakers around your car. Label them as you test them. Hope that helps.

My alpine ida x200 keeps skipping during songs

All you can really do is use a CD Player cleaner *one that uses fluid* run it thru a couple times and try a disc again. Clean your CD's with liquid car polish an a microfibre towel, it works wonders for new and old CD's. If it still skips, It needs to be pulled for repair. They just replace the transport, usually runs between 100-150 depending on the service center. Hope this helps.

I just had an alpine iDa-x200 interface unit installed in my car. It connected to my IPod fine the first day. Now it says "no usb device" I've checked the connections and they're fine. Why doesn't it...

Ive had the same problem with pioneer. I reset the unit and it worked once again but wasnt perfect. Id call Alpine cust. service tech to see about any "known" issues.

You could get a stereo installation kit for your year, make & model, that comes with a pigtail plug that would plug right into the existing harness plug and prevent you from having to hack up your original wiring harness.

If not....

Car Radio memory Constant 12v+ Wire: Orange
Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: The radio harness does not provide a switched power source. Run a wire to the fusebox for switched power.
Car Radio Ground Wire: Black/White
Car Radio Illumination Wire: Gray
Car Stereo Dimmer Wire: Brown
Car Stereo Antenna Trigger Wire: Pink
Car Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: N/A
Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Tan
Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Gray
Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Light Green
Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Dark Green
Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Brown
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Yellow
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Dark Blue
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Light Blue

Good luck

No sound with USB and IPOD Apline IDA-X100

You connected your blue alpine wire (power antenna) to your blue wire (amplifier remote on) on the BMW harness adapter. You need to undo this, amputate your blue alpine wire (because your E36 has no power antenna) and connect the alpine blue wire with white stripe (remote power) to your blue wire on the harness adapter.

When you switch source from the radio, alpine is shutting off your amplifier through the connected power antenna wire. Since you're not listening to the radio anymore, it sees no reason why it should give it power.
