Re: Bad tactile switches on Toshiba 35A44 35" tv
I would repair this set in the house, yes! That set is a big old monster to carry around. The tech probably wants to take the set to the shop because they make more money that way. How do you know the tact switches are bad? What are the symptoms of this TV set?

Is the TACTILE Momentary switch really bad (no clicking feel to it?)
The board is called Function switch PCB aseembly. You may be able to find the switch at WWW.MOUSER.COM, WWW.DIGIKEY.COM
You can try looking for PCB assemblies on EBAY.
I would check to see if the Input button is stuck on the front panel of TV. If it is not stuck then it is probably still bad. Tactile switches are notorious for failing in this manor. The only real fix if it is not stuck down is replacing the switch.
I hope this helps,
Check for bad caps in vertical circuit.
Solder any/all bad connects.
REPLACE vertical o/p IC w/OEM or better quality.
I usually use Tosh,Hit,or Pana.
2)Check/replace tactil switch (menu)on front panel.
the tactile switches on the control panel cause this problem . they could'be stuck or have some kind of contamination like liquid. or just bad . cost to repair aroud 60.00 dls if this helps please let me know
