I have a Sony tv that the Chanel display stays on the screen. I don't have the orig remote. Any thoughts on that. Thanks.
No universal will work for this, almost any Sony TV remote will with the DISPLAY BUTTON remove that--not too hard to understand, you have to have a Sony remote for any of their TV sets made in last 20 years that has the "display" to get this off the screen.

the great thing about sony is you dont need the remote to do menu functions. there is a flip down panel in the front that has the menu, cursers, and select buttons. just select the tab you need in the menu (channels) select the type of input (cable :on/off) then auto program. be sure to have the VCR off so not to program the channel 3 only.

I turned the TV off. I held in all of the (4) buttons on the front of the TV and turned the TV back on again....this seemed to free up the remote control access and I was able to work the TV normally. The four buttons were the channel and the volume controls.

Yes, TV Remote will do the job by pressing display/ info button on remote and on-screen display will disappear.

To turn the PIP feature ON and OFF press the button marked PIP on the remote contro. Each press will get it vanished and reappear. OK.

Do a hard reset to this set and check first. To make it hard reset, unplug the set from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 10 minutes or so.If this do not help you, check and replace its main system memory IC.
