I have been able to play all my DVDs until lately. I purchased 2 Pirates of Carribean and my player keeps telling me to insert the disc and it is already in. I called Disney and they had be do the cleaning bit, and the unplugging bit. It still didn't work and they could not help me any further. Now I am getting the same thing with WB dvds. Can someone tell me what I can do?

hi,
Its only a DVD player. it can play DVDs and CDs. There is no other input in this DVD which will convert the analoge to digital. You can't use this DVD player to make your tv a digital one. yha its true that you can watch DVDs and CDs through you tv.
OK
If your DVD's came from overseas or is a copy, they may not play in the player. I have the same problem with playing certain DVD's in my Linux computer. Although they will play in my oldest DVD player. It is due to the copyright protection software that is encoded on the DVD,
Reset you player by doing the following:
With the player on, hooked properly to your television, and on the correct station:
Open the tray
Close the tray (with no DVD inserted)
Hold the stop button down for a full 5 seconds
The CyberHome screen should appear. You should be able to play your dvd's now.

You more than likely have a bad power supply. The caps in the output circuit are pretty crappy and are well known for failure.
Good luck!
