Check/reseat monitor cables. If the fan and HDD are running, perhaps the power led is out. Check the monitor cable connections. Is the monitor plug into AC? Turned on? Shut down Desktop , unplug, reseat Graphics Card, if applicable, reboot.

SOURCE: ACER Aspire- beeping sound - 6seconds when I power machine on

The beeps are telling you there is a hardware failure (POST). The number and length of beeps will give a better indication as to what has failed. Write back with that info and someone on this web site will interpret this for you.

SOURCE: Computer won't start up and has a constant tone.

If the noise is constant then it means the problem is either:

1: a Power supply issue
2: a motherboard issue
3: a keyboard problem

the latter of the three being the easiest to fix, try booting with your keyboard unplugged or even better if you have another keyboard try using it to see if that corrects the problem.

If the above does not work then you have a problem with 1 or 2, and in order to find out for certain you will need to test it, you can goto your local computer diagnostic store to see if they can check which it is.

and hope its not a problem with the motherboard.

Hope this helps, and Good Luck

SOURCE: I have an Acer Aspire M1641 desktop machine

Your machine has a hardware problem. Open the case and blow all the dust from it. Reseat all components you can. If that does not help, remove memory and try using one memory stick at a time. Change the memory slot. If it still will not boot you either have a video card, motherboard, or power supply problem.

Acer aspire m3640 PC power comes on, give three beeps but no display

One Long and Two Short Beeps
video display circuitry issue

Test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive IDE,SATA

the leads from your (motherboard to your hard drive) make sure they have secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they might be faulty

if its a 40 pin flat ribbon type it will be the first to fail

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty

even something as small as a faulty electrical fan and its lead can cause you problems

computers need all power and data to continue through every working device and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

make sure your graphics card is securely seated with no dust built up or in the socket

if you remove your graphics check the socket to make sure its dust free

restart your computer then reinstall it this should activate found new hardware wizard

hope this helps

Possible hard drive failure

Does the splash screen come up? Most of the time if it is your hard drive the ACER splash screen will come up and then a Hard disk 0 error after that. If nothing appears on the screen then you have a bigger issue.

Is there any noise at all (Fan, hard drive spinning)? If so try hooking it to a external monitor to see if there is any movement. You might have a problem with your LCD.

My acer aspire one aoa 150 shows a power light on and i can hear the fan but there is nothing but a black screen.

Your hard drive may have died. and if this is not the case and you can hear the drive spinning, then your monitor power cord from screen to motherboard has failed.

Acer Aspire one notebook wont work! Help!

First off, does it power on....does the power on light show on the laptop when it is plugged into the wall outlet. If it does power on, do you hear the fan running and the hard drive clicking? Can you see if the hard drive indicator lights are active, they will be next to the power activity light. If you cannot see any lights at all, try another charger, the one you have may be faulty. If you can see a power light, but the laptop wont power on, then you very well have a motherboard issue...or your ac adapter is not putting out enough volts to actually power the system completely. Check power first, then think motherboard issue. You don't have to have a good battery in it if you are plugged into the wall outlet.

My Acer Aspire One A150 Windows suddenly freezed with a blank screen (turned off) while the fan and power light are still on. I've tried everything from holding the power button and resetting the PC, to...

could be the motherboard, the operating system, the video card, or hard drive. you should take it in to a repair center make sure you have them make a backup of your hard drive first as you don't want to lose anything important if they have to reinstall the operating system.

make sure you first check to make sure the monitor is working,

Acer Aspire 5010.. Power on, but Blank screen/ hard drive light also not.

Hi,
This could be a Power/Switch Problem.
Faulty Hard-Drive.
Solution:- Leave the laptop turned Of And charge the battery to Full Capacity. ( usually between 4-16 Hours ) depending on capacity.
This will also fully charge the CMOS ( memory battery )
then boot the laptop up, and see if this solves your problem.
If not i,d suggest running a scandisk or hard-drive diagnostic program, to ensure that you have no Viruses-bad sectors on the hard-drive.
If you need further assistance please don,t hesitate to ask for more help and advice.
