Hello why not download the sound driver from here:

http://global.aopen.com/products_download.aspx?sDropDownProd=52

Please select the mainboard in the motherboard menu.
Download the sounddriver and install it.
You need to reboot after the install is done.

You can buy a soundcard in a computershop or online.
I am sure they will be glad to advice you one that fits your pc.

Good luck

SOURCE: [email protected] asks Does the AOpen MX34-U

Hi,

Yes it has onboard audio.

Here is a manual link:

ftp://ftp.aopen.nl/pub/manual/mb/mx34u/mx34u-ol-e.pdf

You can go to the Aopen sit eto download the driver if it is not working.

Go to http://usa.aopen.com/download.aspx and Select Motherboards in the drop down Product Selector. Then select your MB model #. Then select the category...if you need the Audio driver, select Driver. (Manual, Bios, etc.)

Thanks for using Fixya.

Agp compatibility

AGP cards are super old these days, you can get a modern new motherboard for $40 that has PCI-Express. It's really worth it to upgrade if you are having problems with your AGP card/motherboard

Post stops

are you getting any BEEPS out of the motherboard? These beeps will tell you closer what the problem is. http://www.pantherproducts.co.uk/Articles/Motherboard/BIOSbeep.shtml
(this is not my website, but a healthy and decent article)

It really sounds like you have an old fasioned IRQ conflict. The only way I know of to solve is find out the compatibility issues from the M/B Mfr website.

Well at least the mobo is still good for now, try a known good stick of ram, also try re-seating any video cards you may have.
