Everytime I turn the machine on, it flashes the cinego, then search then the movie intro and shutts off. I was wondering if this has someting to do with the lamp?
Also, even if the the lamp is dead, can I still play music cd?
I bought my Cinego around Christmas last year. It worked fine for months and when I used it after a long period of sitting, the light flashed red and won't find the source.
The lamp is not very used. I will try some of the solutions on this web page and see if I can revive it too.

I have the same problem and I don't think its the bulb. I think its the projector overheating. Place a small fan on the left side of the projector and it keeps the heat down and prevents the projector from shutting off. Its works.
Had the same problem - replaced the lamp even though it only had 632 hours on it.
seemed to fix the problem - 10 hours and 4 moves later still doing ok

Try unchecking the "auto source select" box. Push the setup button on your remote (bottom row, second from the right), use the arrows (7, 0 , 9, or 5) to move across to "management" and down to "auto source select." Make sure it is unchecked (by higlighting it and pressing Enter, which is the 8 key).
You can't, since the unit doesn't have the ability to do what the remote can do. However, the remotes are inexpensive and easy to obtain. Simply type in "Cinego Remote" as a search expression on your search engine, and several places will pop up. Alternatively, contact your local Radio Shack store.
The projector has a computer video cable input on the side of the unit. If yor MacBook has a female VGA output, simply purchase a VGA cable (double male) at a Radio Shack or WalMart, or other comparable retailer, and connect the two. The Cinego will find the input signal from the Mac, and you have to press the right keys on the Mac keyboard to tell it to put the screen signal through the VGA output on the side of the MacBook.
There are two fans on the right side. If one stops working, the Cinego will have the symptoms you have described. You need to send it in for repair. A local Radio Shack will tell you where to send it.
Mine does the same thing and I just replaced the bulb after waiting almost 6 months and I purchased one directly from Radio Slack. It will turn on for about 10 seconds and then goes into shut down.....At three hundred dollars I can't see putting another bulb in, when this one has less than 50 hours on it.
While it is frozen on that "Searching" screen, hold the SRC button down on the actual projector for an extended time. Then after letting it up, hit it briefly one or two times until it finds a source. Make sure that under Projector Setup/Management/ "Auto Source Select" is checked. This brought my Cinego back from the dead.
