Question about Panasonic PT-51HX41 51" Rear Projection Television
My television is turning off after about 2 second's and I can't turn it back on unless I unplug it, then it turn's back off again within a couple of second's. Is there anything I can do to fix it myself, I can't really afford a repair call.
Premtech.. I just replaced my two ICs with these chips STK392-110 Original Sanyo IC TV 38v 3a 15Khz max. It worked great for one day however now when I turn TV on.. I have the same problem.. Are these IC's to low in voltage?

Don't have a repair come to you take the TV to them... And no, it's not something you can repair yourself. The symptoms you're describing are a common problem with the PT51HX41 in that one of the convergence amps has failed and most likely opened or dramatically changed one of the feed resistors in that circuit. Your amps are IC7001 and IC7002 both STK392-110 and I personally recommend using an STK392-150's for greater reliability. The feed resistors in that circuit are a 2.2ohm/2w and most likely you'll find one or more heat stressed... When researching for a shop ask them if they have the STK392-150's on-hand and if they have any problem subbing to that for greater reliability. Most shops will have no problem. Sorry if this wasn't what you wanted to hear - please don't kill the messenger. As a certified tech I most hate having to tell people bad news in a solution. Good Luck Bill
