Hi Craig,

Vertex Standard is the Make, and a very good Make.
What you failed to add was the Model Number of your set.

We need this info so we can help you find the answers you require.

Please reply with Model Number and as much detail as you can regarding what you are looking for.

Cheers,
Peter

Will transmit but will not receive

I have programmed hundreds of these. The radio may be receiving, but the speaker may be muted. If using a hand mic, have the mic "off hook" or ungrounded and try again. Does the front light flash while the radio is receiving? This indicates the radio is "hearing", just not passing the audio to the speaker. Is there something plugged into the audio jack in the back? Let me know. In 20-30 minutes most shops familiar with Vertex will know exactly what is happening.

Pinouts for vertex-standar vx-230

Hi,

I'm guessing that you require a schematic diagram for the interface.

If that is correct, may I direct you to the following: join yahoo group SPECIFIC to your radio Make/Model, there you will receive all the info you require, plus you can download manuals, diagrams and other goodies.

I hope this helps you.

Cheers,
Peter

Now that I have the Make/Model of your radio, I can give you advice.

You wish to program your set with frequencies, so here is the best way to do so.

Join yahoo group SPECIFIC to your radio MAKE/MODEL, the team there will assist you with great advice and valuable info, plus you can download manuals, diagrams and other great stuff for your radio.

I hope you are happy with my advice.

How to program a Portable Vertex VX-427-4-5 channel?

Hi,

your post is a little confusing, but let's start with your hand held HH, you can download a copy of the user manual if you don't already have one. I'll get to that shortly,...

Then you ask how to program a frequency/channel into a scanner radio, they are two different beasts.

Also you left out the Make/Model of the scanner, which is a requirement, as no two radio scanners are equally designed.

So with out this info, I cannot assist you.

Now back to the Vertex HH, my advice is to join yahoo group specific to your radio Make/Model, the team there will require as much info as you can provide so as to assist you, you can also download manuals, diagrams and other goodies for you radio, please do not refer to your scanner, as they only deal with your Vertex Make/Model, the scanner is for a different yahoo group, so you can join both separately and kill two birds with one stone.

I hope this info is useful to you.

Cheers, Peter
